Hi Bree!! I've been following you for so long, your content is amazing and helped me a lot during the past years ♡
If you don't mind, I have a question about the thread spell! Does the caster have to manually fill the thread bobbins, or could it be done with a sewing machine?
Again, thank you for all the help, have an amazing day!
The little man took the necklace, seated himself before the wheel, and whirr, whirr, whirr! three times round and the bobbin was full; then
You could totally use a sewing machine or a bobbin winder to fill your bobbins, if that makes things easier. So long as you take time to give the bobbin a purpose with regard to the spell, the mechanical method of winding isn't really a factor.
Here is my basic shortbread cookie recipe, as well as a few variations you can do in order to jazz up an offering or use the cookie as a spell. Cookies make fantastic vessels for spells -more so than most other desserts in my experience. They also make perfect offerings for your deities, and simplify whole-item offerings to Chthonic deities.
Preheat the oven to 350. Cream the butter and sugar together, then sift in the flour one cup at a time. Combine until smooth. On a baking sheet, put down a layer of parchment paper and lightly dust with flour. Drop appx 1.5 inch balls of dough on the cookie sheet roughly 2 inches apart. Bake 9-11 minutes (start at 9, add more if needed). Allow to cool before lifting them off the cookie sheet.

Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least one hour, or overnight.
On a flat surface, lightly sprinkle flour to coat. Also coat your hands and a rolling pin. Roll out the dough across the floured surface until 0.5 inch thick. Dip your cookie cutters into the flour and press firmly to cut.

Tips & Tricks:
For buttery shortbread, use 3 cups of flour. For drier shortbread -or rolled shortbread- use 4 cups of flour. That’s how I like mine.
Parchment paper likes to roll up on you. When you cut off the amount you need, crumple it up into a ball, then smooth it back out. It won’t roll anymore. Trim the edges around the pan if they’re too big.
Shortbread is a lot like me - it doesn’t tan; it burns. Shortbread isn’t meant to be golden brown on top; it should be approximately the same white color as the dough. A little golden brown on the bottom is ok, but not too much.
Variations:
When adding ingredients to shortbread for flavor, you don’t need to add more butter unless you go overboard. I would highly recommend sticking with plain shortbread the first one or two times you make it so that you learn what the dough is like and you can gauge for yourself.
For Wealth: Add vanilla extract to the dough. When the cookie is baked and cooled, dip half of the cookie in melted dark chocolate
For Love: Add culinary grade rose and hibiscus petals
For Protection: Add just a pinch of cinnamon, black pepper, and lemon zest.
For Uplifting & Rejuvenating: Add lemon and/or orange zest
For Peace: Add culinary grade lavender petals (lavender is very strong and can easily overpower your
Wealth and Abundance offering to Hades, Persephone, and Demeter: Use saffron butter instead of regular butter. I make mine by crushing up saffron with my mortar, softening my butter, taking out a portion of it (like 0.25 cup) and melting that, then letting the crushed saffron infuse into the melted butter. When it is infused, cooled, and beginning to resolidify (about 30 minutes) I add that back to the softened butter, cream them together, then cream in the sugar.
Reverence Offering to Persephone: Add fresh pomegranate arils into the dough and refrigerate for an hour before baking. If you do this, mix the arils in by hand, not using a machine, to reduce how many of them break. You can amp this up by waiting for the cookies to cool then dipping them into dark chocolate and sprinkling more arils on top.
Sacrifice to Hestia and/or Demeter: Leave the cookies plain, but bake them into the shape of pigs, which are Hestia and Demeter’s primary sacrificial animal. You can do this with a cookie cutter, or do what I do and use a Piggy Pop pan. Do not do this for Aphrodite, who hates pigs.

The stone of the ruler, the warrior, and the shaman as well, turquoise was one of the first crystals to be unearthed by human efforts. It is unsurpassed as a healing crystal, able to convey benefits to the entire body, but with a particular affinity for the immune, respiratory, waste, and skeletal systems. It is soothing to the touch and healing to the eye, and a stone that any witch should own.
Element ~ Earth, Water, Air
Energy ~ Receptive
Planet ~ Neptune, Venus
Zodiac Sign ~ Aquarius, Taurus, Sagittarius
Deities ~ Buddha, The Great Spirit, Sopedu, Hathor, Estsanatleki
Chakra ~ Throat
A valued power stone, turquoise is able to align the chakras and cleanse energy centers. As an aid in meditation, turquoise helps to clear the mind and attune oneself to the Universal All. The stone can be used to attune to the spiritual plane and provide protection during vision quests and astral travel. It is also a symbol of generosity, sincerity, and affection, preserving friendships and making friends out of enemies in time.
The tribes of North America believed that turquoise protected the rider of a horse, and conveyed great protection in general, especially from the evil eye. Useful for inspiring creative thought and aiding self-expression, turquoise is also used in spells for everything from wealth to love. It can help to protect children from bullying, and can be hung on a pet’s collar or cage to prevent them from being lost or stolen. It can also help repel intruders, and is a powerful protective stone in general.
Turquoise is also associated with the angel Zadkiel and the Empress Arcana.
About Planetary time and intent for this second step
On the 26th both the Moon and Mercury are in Virgo - and there’s an aspect to my friend’s Virgo Moon.
Later on, the Moon and Jupiter will be in Libra - aspecting my friend’s Sun and Jupiter :).
Items
To begin with, some of the herbs, plants and spices that are generally associated with luck, wealth and prosperity are*:
Almond
Basil
Chamomile
Cinnamon
Clover
Fern
Sunflower seeds
Thyme
Secondly, when it comes to Virgo Mercury, this is what I took into consideration **:
Virgo is associated to employment, while Mercury is associated to communication, agility, good fortune and gain.
Herb correspondences: lavender and parsley
Color correspondence: purple
They both correspond to each other regarding planet – zodiac sign association, and to Wednesdays
And regarding Libra Jupiter **:
Jupiter is associated to riches, prosperity, wealth, success, luck – and Thursdays.
Herb correspondence: bergamot
Color correspondence: yellow
Metals: copper for Libra and tin for Jupiter
So, what instructions I’ll follow?
Draw a purple sigil for Virgo Mercury on one side of a small white paper bag, charge it by holding it close to a lavender scented candle and activate it by carefully dripping some wax over it.
Draw a yellow sigil for Libra Jupiter on the other side of the paper bag, charge it by holding it close to a yellow candle and activate it by dripping wax on it.
Charge each of the ingredients by placing them near the candles and a clear quartz. Then put them inside the bag.
Close the bag using a green thread, place it in the box used during the first step of the whole spell, and leave this out or on a windowsill during tonight and tomorrow (until Friday morning).
Next weekend I’ll be showing you the third and final step!
I made this simple charm for people who are seeking financial independence. I know a lot of us could rly use that right now.
ingredients:
a green candle for prosperity
a plate
money(I used coins)
a wallet or piggy bank(somewhere you keep money)
basil
2 rose quartz crystals for self help and love
1 citrine cluster for wealth and abundance
super moon anointing oil(not pictured)*
Anoint your candle and arrange your crystals around it on a plate
Pour your coins in a circle around the candle
and set the items you wish to charm next to it, making sure it touches the plate
Light your candle and sprinkle some basil on the flame
Add 3 shakes/pinches of basil to each item you’re enchanting and say:
“Bring me abundance,
Bring me wealth,
Bring me the things I need
to do for myself.”
Place the coins in your piggy bank and one in your wallet
Either recharge the items with your candle or crystals. I suggest using a wallet and piggy bank like I did, so you can bring one charm with and leave one to bring abundance to your home.
((*Optional, to use whatever anointing oil works for u))
Carefully if needed, cut up your pineapple into small pieces and using a knife or spoon crush it slightly, try not to smash it so all of the juice comes out though.
Place it into the bottom of your cup
Take some fresh mint leaves and if desired tear or cut them before gently using your mortar pestle to lightly crush them to help release their oils. Place into your cup.
Fill cup generously with grape juice
“Blood Money, Blood Money, I need some coin in my purse. Blood Money, Blood Money, before my finances get worse.”
using a spoon stir your cup clockwise (counter-clockwise if you are in the southern Hemisphere)
Repeat chant 4-6 times
Drink all contents of glass. Then using a spoon eat the pineapple at the bottom
Rinse cup swishing it clockwise before properly washing it imagining the soap and water is washing away your financial troubles. Leave it to air dry upside down
Though obviously thought of by most as a cooking ingredient only, allspice is most certainly useful for any witch or herbal healer. Also known as Jamaican pepper, myrtle pepper, pimenta, kabab cheene, and seetful, allspice is a potent and well-rounded herb that’s just as useful in a mortar and pestle and on a witch’s altar as in a delicious dish.
Element ~ Fire
Planet ~ Mars
Zodiac Sign ~ Aries
Anatomy ~ Head
Allspice is native to Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies, but it has also taken root in Honduras, Trinidad, Cuba, and Jamaica. Pimenta dioica is a tropical evergreen tree that grows to a height of 22 to 43 feet, or 7 to 13 meters; it is a small, shrubby tree with glossy, elliptical leaves and grayish-white bark that peels in sheets. Its leaves are pleasantly aromatic, and the tree blossoms with clusters of small white flowers.
The only spice unique to the New World, allspice’s tropical origins make it difficult for many witches to grow themselves; if witches in these climates endeavor to grow it, then the trees need to be spaced 30 feet (or 10 meters) apart to allow full canopy spread, with both male and female plants present. Despite the difficulties presented, if genuine allspice can be acquired, it is very useful: as a remedy, it has carminative, aromatic, and digestive stimulant qualities. Anti-inflammatory, anti-flatulent, and possessed of a warming, soothing quality, allspice is rich in vitamins A, C, niacin, riboflavin, and thiamine, as well as various minerals and metabolites. It can be used to treat various maladies of the gastrointestinal system, including stomachache, diarrhea, and even diabetes, as well as conditions as varied as fatigue and the flu.
In witchcraft, allspice is a very masculine and virile plant that is ideal for honoring male archetypes. A very uplifting plant, it fills the user with energy and determination. This is thus very useful for various kinds of spells, particularly healing spells. The dried berries, oil, or allspice incense can be burned to aid in spells for attracting money and good fortune; the berries can be kept in a sachet for the same goal. Allspice is useful in all healing mixtures.
