Story : is that a talking weapon???
The ruins were eerily quiet, the kind of silence that pressed against your ears and made every shuffle of feet echo like a cannon blast. Childe adjusted his scarf as he stepped into the main chamber. His vision flickered faintly, the cool blue glow illuminating ancient carvings on the stone walls.
At the center of the chamber stood a pedestal, its surface adorned with faintly glowing sigils. Atop it lay a weapon—a spear with an intricate design that almost looked alive. Its shaft was sleek black, lined with faint silver patterns, and the blade shimmered with a faint blue glow that pulsed like a heartbeat.
Childe approached slowly, his eyes narrowing. He reached out a gloved hand, hesitating for just a moment before his fingers brushed the weapon.
“Ah, finally!” your voice erupted in his mind, sharp and loud enough to make him stumble back.
“What the—who’s there?!” Childe’s other hand instinctively reached for his sword, his eyes darting around the empty room.
“Relax, underling. You’re looking right at me.”
Childe blinked, his gaze snapping back to you. “Wait. Are you—”
“Yes, yes, it’s me. The spear. The incredible, one-of-a-kind, spectacular soul of this weapon,” you interrupted, dripping with lpride. “And you, lucky mortal, just became my new wielder. Congratulations!”
Childe stared at you, a spear, slack-jawed. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“Oh, I’m very serious,” you continued, your tone smug. “From now on, you’re my underling. My partner, if you prefer a less embarrassing term. But let’s be real—you’re working for me.”
Childe’s disbelief turned into a scowl. “Partner? Underling? Listen here, you oversized toothpick—”
“Whoa, whoa, let’s not throw around insults. You think I chose you because you’re boring? No. You’ve got potential.”
Childe narrowed his eyes, gripping your body tightly. “If you think I’m just going to let a talking stick order me around—”
“Correction: Legendary weapon," you interjected, a little annoyed. “And if you’re smart, you’ll listen. Otherwise, you can try putting me back and see how far you get without me.”
Childe’s grip tightened. For a moment, he considered doing exactly that—tossing the spear back onto the pedestal and walking away. But something about your presence was... magnetic. He could feel the energy humming through the air, sharp and exhilarating.
“Fine,” he muttered, lifting the spear. “But don’t get cocky. I’m in charge here.”
“Sure, sure,” you replied breezily. “Whatever you need to tell yourself, underling.”

Childe dashed through the dense forest, his breath puffing in the cold morning air. The spear was clutched tightly in his hand, its voice ringing in his mind.
“Faster, underling! This guy’s getting away!”
“I know he’s getting away,” Childe growled, leaping over a fallen tree. “Maybe if you shut up for two seconds, I’d actually catch him.”
“Excuses,” you taunted. “I thought you were supposed to be some elite Fatui warrior. This is just embarrassing.”
Childe gritted his teeth, his eyes narrowing as he spotted his target—a panicked and cloaked man, darting between the trees. “He’s not getting away,” Childe muttered, picking up speed.
“Finally! Some spirit!”
With a burst of energy, Childe closed the gap, vaulting over a boulder and landing directly in front of the recruit. The man skidded to a halt, eyes wide with terror.
“End of the line,” Childe said, a predatory grin spreading across his face.
“Nice save,” you quipped. “Almost looked like you knew what you were doing.”
Childe glared at the weapon. “Do you ever stop talking?”
“Nope. Get used to it.”

The Fatui recruit was tied to a tree, trembling as Childe leaned casually against his new spear.
“Let’s make this simple,” Childe said, his voice calm but laced with menace. “Tell me what I want to know, and maybe I’ll let you go.”
The recruit shook his head frantically. “I don’t know anything! I swear!”
“Wrong answer,” you chimed in, its tone cheerful. “Should I start listing all the ways we can make this worse for you? I’ve got plenty of ideas.”
“Stop helping,” Childe muttered, though the corner of his mouth twitched in amusement.
“I’m just saying,” you continued, undeterred. “We could start with—”
“Alright!” the recruit screamed. “Alright, I’ll talk! Just—just don’t do anything weird!”
Childe smirked, leaning closer. “See? That wasn’t so hard.”
“Teamwork makes the dream work,” you added smugly.

They sat on a rocky outcrop overlooking the harbor, the sky awash with hues of orange and pink. Childe rested your beside him, his arms draped over his knees as he watched the waves below.
“You know,” you began, breaking the silence, “this view isn’t half bad.”
Childe snorted. “Didn’t take you for the sentimental type.”
“I’m full of surprises,” you replied. “But seriously, sunsets like this make the chaos worth it. Even if you are a little annoying sometimes.”
Childe turned, raising an eyebrow. “Me? Annoying? Says the spear that never shuts up.”
“I mean, you’re reckless, a little unhinged, but... you’re fun. It’s been a while since I’ve had fun.”
The harbinger turned, studying the weapon for a moment. “You’re not so bad yourself. For a talking spear, I mean.”
“High praise,” you replied with mock seriousness. Then, after a beat: “You know, sunsets like this make it all worth it. Even if you’re an idiot sometimes.”
Childe grinned, leaning back on his palms. “I’ll take that as a compliment."

The battlefield was quiet, the air heavy with the scent of smoke and steel. Childe leaned on you, catching his breath.
“That... was intense,” he panted.
“And awesome,” you corrected. “Don’t forget awesome.”
Childe chuckled, shaking his head. “You’re impossible.”
“Maybe,” you replied, your tone softer now. “But I mean it—I’m glad you were the one who picked me up.”
Childe froze for a moment, then smiled. “Yeah,” he said quietly. “Me too.”
As they walked away together, the setting sun casting long shadows behind them, Childe couldn’t help but feel that, this weapon might just be the best thing that had ever happened to him.
