While Zinnya was not his mother, she was still someone Jack cares greatly for and respected. For mother's day the little boy would make her a card of them both fishing while also baking her some cupcakes.
"Awww, you know I'm not- ah well, you're lovely Jack!" He gets a big tight hug and a kiss on the top of his head. "Thank you. If you want, I should be free tomorrow afternoon, if nothing big intrudes. We could go try the Silver Lake, I usually use it for rituals, but I also often see birds hunt in it, even Svalek tries sometimes!"
Though not his parent, Jack would give Soraka some cupcakes he baked and flowers he picked with a smile.
"That's so nice of you, Jack. Thank you! "
" Do you mind if I share these with Violet and Iris? They will enjoy them very very much too."
Two little goat Celestial girls appear. They say "It smells like good cake!" they turn to Jack : "Is it you who brought them?"
Jack hummed happily as he handed up Chiasa a hand turkey he drew and colored in with scented crayons.
"Daww, ain't that adorable!~" Chiasa was happy to take the turkey, and pin it up on the icebox that she had. "Perfect fa tha season! I'm sure that turkeys would be flattered!~"
A Halloween Drabble Feat: Sivir ( @nameaprice), Lief, and Jack ( @weapon-turned-jack) [Story Beneath the cut for Length]
The boys were excited, they had their outfits prepared, they had their small baskets they all made (through many MANY trail and error sessions), and the three were off. Lief was wearing his Lion Onesie, his brother was wearing a Frankenstein’s Monster costume, and after much begging, the boys convinced their mother to dress up. She was wearing a Gladiator outfit, the boys would take the win where they could.
Off the three went, to explore areas where they could get treats, there mother following and watching the two as they ventured around. Unfortunately for Jack, Lief’s excitement meant that whenever they held hands, the older boy would be slightly dragged by his smaller brother towards their goal. Sometimes it was to go towards a candy-giver, other times it was towards a tale-teller to listen to some haunting stories, and the rest it was back towards their mother who would inspect their treats. Sivir would also pocket some treats while the boys were distracted... but they knew and didn’t say anything. Her sons wanted Sivir to enjoy some sweets too.
It was around an hour into their ‘Candy Hunt’ that the group ended up in the town center where a little event was going on. Apparently, for fun, the community had gotten together to have a little Group Costume contest for families. Effectively, the three would have to pose in a way that showcased their costumes and whoever looked the best (or the funniest) won. While both Jack and Sivir decided it would be best to leave it be, the little lion would insist they join. It took some convincing, but once the boy offered all his treats, the two couldn’t resist any longer. They denied the bribe and signed up for the contest. Of the people who signed up, they were the fifth and last group. It was clear that this was just for families to have some extra fun for the evening activities, still, the group hoped they would win. When the fourth group finished, the three took center stage and then they posed! Sivir took a challenging stance, while Jack raised his arms up to look imposing, and finally Lief was pretending to roar at both of them while also holding his arms up. When they were revealed to the audiance, there was a number of ‘Aw’s, cheers, and some laughter. When everything was over and the groups were waiting off to the side, the boys ended up making friends with the other children who had joined as well. After an exchange of treats, the winner was about to be announced.
Shockingly, Sivir, Jack, and Lief had won! They had lost some points due to being off-theme, but otherwise, they were the best and most thematic of the bunch. The cheers from the crowd and from the other families made it worth the slight embarrassment that was suffered. Though, what really made the moment special was when the grandmother of one of the teams went over to Sivir. “A little birdie told me that none of your are related by blood.” Before Sivir could snap and mouth off at the woman, the elder smiled. “That’s so beautiful and touching. A single mother raising two young boys out of the goodness of your heart. Bless you sweet-child, you and your boys. I can only hope for many-many long years of happiness for you and your family... Here.” The grandmother would pull out a small bag of treats. “It’s not much, but I want you and your boys to have it. Take care~” With that, the old woman was called off back to her own family.
Sivir was stunned for a moment, so much so that the person running the event called for her twice before the boys went and got her. She had pieced together it must’ve been one of her grandchildren that told her, which meant it was one of the boys who spilled the beans. There was some worry that not being bound by blood might have eliminated them from the contest, but seeing how no one said anything... it was fine. The prize was a large stuffed animal of a ‘ghost’ and a basket of candy. Of course, Lief requested the ghost and would even bargain with Jack and Sivir to give up his portion of the sweets from the prize if he gets to keep it. Of course, the two would let the youngest have his treats and the plush. However, this event did eat up the rest of their night and it was time to return home.
The trip back was uneventful, thankfully, and when the three got home, the toy was instantly put away into Lief’s room before he returned to the living room to exchange and check their candy. After looking at everything, the treats were divide three-ways and everyone collected their shares, and put them away, before they all changed into their pajamas and went to the couch to end the night.
Sitting to her left was Lief while Jack too the right and both would stare up as Sivir began to read them their bed-time Halloween-theme story. It didn’t take long for signs of fatigue began to show. Lief began to curl up and nuzzle, while Jack started to lean against her. Just before both of them feel into a deep sleep, they knew what they had to do. Both boys would embrace their mother and say, at the same time, “Thank you the bestest Holli-day ever Momma.” With that, the two boy’s strength gave out and both fell asleep right on Sivir.
Maybe it was the mood, maybe it was the evening events, or maybe what the old woman said struck a cord with her... but just for a bit, Sivir wrapped her arms around her boys, planted a small kiss to their foreheads, and then wrapped a blanket around the three of them before closing her eyes. A little awkward rest was something she could endure, after all what better way to end the ‘bestest holli-day’ then sleeping on the couch with those you love.
After their first encounter the small boy would go to seek the woman out. This time around he was covered in dirt and grass stains but held out a ruby encrusted necklace for her.
The thief's ears perked up. Someone was looking for her. But, by the sound of the steps, it was clean the person was a young child.
"That's ya, lad?" She asked, with a grin on her face. "Ya need another bandage for yer wound?"
A mailman came and placed a package down. Inside was Jack as some force has requested his presence. He was awfully hungry after the trip in his magic box though.
Shisui didn't even give the boy time to adjust to the light before pulling him into a tight hug. "Welcome baaaaaack!" The young woman nuzzled against Jack's head, almost purring like a contented cat.
"Hungry? Well, I have some congee and grilled fish in the kitchen. I could get you some! Would you like that?"
She sighs, then floats until the boy, "Arms up, kid." There was no justification for her request, and she did seem to expect him to arguee with her about it.
When the fireworks started, Jack would run over to the woman. He would cling to her as he covered his ears ,trembling a bit from the loud noises going on.
"Ahhh" He was just too adorable, the mage gently covered the boy's ears so he could admire the fireworks in peace. "just look at the pretty lights dear~"
