wearecoming-back replied to your post: just told my auntie about my tattoo an...
tell her to fuuuuck offffff. Neither of my parents nor my grandmother are happy about my piercing and my response is just “Well, it’s not your body, so you don’t have to worry about it.”
What piercing did you get?
I feel you--I want to say that, but honestly I'm trying for supreme diplomacy here without really wanting to...anger her. I already know that she's going to tell my grandmother and said grandmother is going to shun me because of it. It just makes me feel angry because my brother and sister have already been shunned for LITERALLY nothing, so I'm literally the only 'loved' grandchild, as horrid as that sounds.
So I just feel like if my grandmother decides that "oh no, her beloved Rosie has turned to the ways of darkness" (which...PSH, was born in the darnkess) Anyway, she will literally have alienated ALL of her grandchildren and she will probably rip onto my mother about how she has raised all of us (which, she has done VERY well, I must say).
But yeah, it's just stupid how attached my granny and auntie are with each other and I know it's just going to backlash anyway, so I'm trying to be very diplomatic and just ....well tell her the truth.
It literally helped me as a person, it made me grow as a person and fuck, it made me like myself a heck of a lot more than I did before and it is something that I've been planning and wanting to do for YEARS.
But yeah, as you said--its our bodies. We can do whatever the fuck we want with them as long as we're happy and content with what we've done with it.
