The port operates with an incessant and energy-intensive fervor, relying heavily on fuels with detrimental environmental effects. In stark contrast, Montjuïc Mountain exhibits a significantly different energy cycle at a much more leisurely pace .
Considering the impracticality of reducing the Port of Barcelona's intensity, we have recognized an opportunity within Montjuïc Cemetery to rectify and balance these divergent scenarios. This can be achieved by redefining how we handle our remains after passing, ultimately "counteracting" and contributing energy to the earth. This energy can serve as fuel for the land, effectively transforming the space into a vibrant park and a new habitat for biodiversity.
