The upstairs loft & bedroom have cream color carpet. Before we moved in 6 years ago I had the carpet cleaned and then I laid a clear runner along one side of the loft where all the plants were going. I will say that was one of the smarter things I have done in my life. Between water overflow and digging cat it has been worth every penny I paid for it, and since I think it was about $12.00 I certainly recommend. ANYWAY - today I moved everything to one half of the loft floor and pulled up the runner so I could sweep and shampoo the carpet. HOLY HECK! How did the floors get that dirty in an area where no dogs go? Anyway - I recommend the Hoover Pet elite.
