got a bit of an announcement.

due to some unexpected events, i'm going to Alaska for a week. my cousin, who was supposed to go, got bronchitis at the last minute and isn't allowed on the plane, so she gave me the ticket instead. i've spent all day running around in a rush because I am literally leaving tomorrow evening. as excited as i am to go, this does mean that i'm going to be on hiatus for a week. i wanted to give a heads up to the people i'm writing with and those who interact with me regularly. i owe some starters as well, but i'm going to have to save those till i get back, 'cause i'm in a whirl trying to pack.

i'm very sorry to put things on hold. if you don't want to wait, i completely understand; just send me a message saying so. otherwise, i'll be back before you know it and willing to continue then.

For once, Vel didn't overreact in regards to her annoying little device and its constant singing.

That was because, for once, it was not in her hands or at her side. She had left her bag behind the counter at Mama's Kitchen, and was instead lying in a nearby booth. Her head hung off the end of the seat, and she was reading through a brochure. There were a dozen or so on the table next to her, as well as a few newspapers and magazines. It looked like she was doing her research on the Game World.

"Your zhree-dee-ess ees reengeeng agen, Vel!" Mama called from behind the counter with the most ridiculous and heavy accent, neither lifting her head nor interrupting her work. She sliced ingredients in an awe-inspiringly efficient manner. Vegetables were swept this way and that with short flicks, a perfect display of a professional chef. It was no wonder. Vel had discovered recently that Mama had a cooking game, and as of late she was finally coming to believe it. What she couldn't believe was that Mama came home from work and kept cooking.

Mama insisted it was her passion.

"Later." The blonde responded shortly and disinterestedly. Why should she care? She'd only get wound up again at her growing renown in GCS and worry about the people watching her, the things she read online, the tensions building between friends and foes. If she knew about Tappers, she would've been in it.

Mama was not impressed by this brattish behaviour though. Just because she was 'Mama' did not mean she was going to mother Vel. Vel was old enough. "Come get eet RIGHT NOW. Eet ees unclean to 'ave on my counter aneeways!" She made swishing gestures at the leather purse. With a sigh, Vel rolled about and slowly got up. She wandered over to rifle through the bag before too long, though forgetting to actually take the bag off the counter. She just rested her elbows and flipped her 3DS open, earning a reproachful glare from Mama.

Two Anons, one possibly another god to boot, and three followers not too far from Game Central. Vel suspected those three were more video game characters. She snapped the device closed, tossing it back in her bag and pulling the bag strap over her shoulder once more. A stealthy hand reached over the glass to grab a cookie. Mama rapped Vel's knuckles with the side of her knife. The blonde pretended to be hurt, though there was a smile creeping around the cookie in her mouth.

"I'll be back later, Mama. Could you give Nook a call for me? His offer is probably the best so far, and I don't think I'll find a better place." The chef nodded, and Vel grinned warmly before turning heel and leaving the cafe. The bell on the door chimed brightly.

Time to go and find these new stalkers.
