The night was young and the party just getting started. Katie reminded herself of that as she washed down the remaining contents of her drink, feeling for the carefully scrawled sheet of parchment tucked away in her handbag. The witch had every intention of slipping her Beltane wish into the fire tonight, but reminded herself there was no need to rush. Time was on her side—it always seemed to be, but especially on a night she forged into her own liking. Right now she was more interested in crafting her own adventure; craving the exhilaration she so fiercely wanted to taste on her lips everyday, but especially on a day like her birthday.
The sound of Katie's high heels clanking! into the floor was hardly audible as she ascended a spiraling staircase. She was unsure where it led, but her desire for adventure always outweighed fear of the unknown. The impressive array of scenery seemed to transcend the higher she climbed—from oversized tree canopies to an eclipsing multitude of stars littering the club’s internal skyline. Once she reached the terrace she stopped briefly, her intense eyes traveling the perimeter of the enormous and mind-boggling terrain. Stunned wixen were strung everywhere, taking in the dazzling scenery just like bouncing birthday girl herself. Katie couldn't recall a time she had seen a crowd of this magnitude outside of a rowdy quidditch protest or other work-related incident ( and tonight work was the furthest thing from her mind ).
All of the hit witch's usual inhibitions were thrown out the window as soon as she was swept inside the club's magnificent interior. It was a different world—a temporary shelter from the storm brewing outside Club Raven's double doors. She refused to let anything dampen her mood tonight though, not even the impending hurricane threatening to make landfall. The world was her oyster, at least until Katie returned home and retired her abstract pink and green neon colored dress to her closet ( notably dubbed the cherished land of eccentric colored clothing ).
Turning with surety in her step, the dark haired wix noticed Fred standing just a few short strides away. Katie, who was a firm believer in notions such as fate and telling signs from the universe, suddenly knew with confidence exactly where she was meant to be. The steady drumming of music disguised her loud footsteps, allowing her the illusion of a graceful entrance as she closed the distance between them. A sly smirk spread across her lips as she snaked both hands over his eyes. " Guess who— " she said with a strained laugh that was nearly impossible to deny as her own. " I've been looking for you everywhere! " Katie confessed as she dropped her arms, promptly leaning against the balcony's railing in front of him. “ This place hardly seems real—and I keep managing to get lost. ”
