This is NOT an official National Weather Service app* but it does grab its data from NWS forecasts and you can access products like Area Forecast Discussions (AFDs) which are basically a technical narrative of what the forecaster is thinking will happen in the next few days and why. Some of those discussions are more verbose than others. If you’re a huge friggin’ weather nerd, you will like reading the AFD.
But in general: It’s got your basic forecast, current weather alerts (and you can configure your notifications to alert you when there’s a warning issued for your area), severe weather outlooks, radar, etc.

*the NWS does not have an official app and any apps you find purporting to be NWS is not actually run by the NWS. They have a mobile site and that’s about it
