Last Line
Thanks for the tag @missgeevious!
My last line is from a Shane/Ilya future fic. Special guest appearance by Ilya's favourite, Scott Hunter.
“I have to take this picture now because who knows...this might be your last All Star game. Who knows if you’ll be back again? You know, because you are so old.”

Suitably Surprised
In response to @schittscreekdrabbleblog week five word: BURST
Clint looked across the table at his son. His boy. Watched as he slid into the booth, nervous, but resolute.
He acted surprised. Suitably.
Studied his hands that fidgeted and pulled.
Clint listened while he confessed that he’d been meaning to tell them…something. Watched as he gathered himself, looking at the ceiling, at the wall, at the table—everywhere but at them—while his mother interrupted with her support and her love.
He took a deep breath and bravely said the words.
They acted surprised. Poorly.
Teary eyes sought approval. “Dad?”
Clint's heart could have burst from his chest with pride.
Wake-Up Call

My very first 1st person POV!
I knock softly on the door, reluctantly and cautiously entering the room. I never should have agreed to play rock-paper-scissors with Alexis. She always wins.
It is fitting to perform one last maid of honour duty—to get these two up in time to see the Roses off.
I step over a suit crumpled on the floor and brush past one draped carefully over the back of a chair.
I’ll never tell David that they are adorable curled around each other—Patrick protects him even in sleep.
They’re happy.
They really are going to be insufferable now.
I'm so happy for them.
Just Deserts

Sebastien hates this place. It’s provincial, and antiquated, and unostentatious in none of the ways that he usually finds fascinating.
A striking woman wearing a tool belt slammed the cafe door in his face, the boorish mayor wiped his greasy hands on his Isabel Marant, he would swear that the waitress who exudes sunshine just intentionally clipped him in the back of the head with her tray, and a man who he assumes is the local accountant is glaring at him so hard he’s surprised he’s not bursting into flames.
How can David stand it here?
He deserves this town.
