Mark was sat cross-legged on his bed, typing away at his computer, completely absorbed in his online conversation with Sara Diggle. She was telling Mark about some new tech she was working on for him to use, she’d been determined for some time to give Mark something to protect himself with if his powers ever failed him. This was why he didn’t notice a shadow appear in his window, balanced on the tree outside. A sudden tap made Mark jump, almost knocking his laptop over, he scrambled up and towards his window, easing it open to find Dick perched dangerously on the edge of the tree branch, grinning at Mark.“Hey!” Dick chirped, climbing throw the window.“Hey?” Mark squeaked, confused, “What are you doing here?”“I came to Central with a case and wanted to pop by and say hi!” Dick explained. Well that explained why he was in his Nightwing suit. “You couldn’t have knocked on the door?” Mark hissed, closing the window.“Well, I didn’t know if your dads were home plus wouldn’t it raise suspicion if Nightwing was knocking on your door?” Dick said, plopping down onto Mark’s bed, careful not to knock his laptop over.“You could’ve changed,” Mark muttered, glaring at his friend.“Oops?” Dick shrugged not looking even a little guilty.“My dads aren’t here by the way,” Mark said as an after thought.“Oh, well now I feel a little stupid dressed like this,” Dick grumbled. Mark just hummed and sat back down on his bed, shoving Dick over slightly so they could both fit. Dick wrapped an arm around Mark’s shoulder and snuggled into his side. Mark didn’t mind, he’d take any excuse to be close to Dick; honestly though, Mark was very obvious with his crush and the son of the world’s greatest detective couldn’t even see it. (Even Wally saw it!)“Who you talking to?” Dick inquired, glancing over Mark’s shoulder making Mark tense slightly.“Sara, she wants me to try out some new tech,” Mark replied, glancing at Dick. Dick nodded and rested his chin on Mark’s shoulder, watching as Mark continued to message Sara.“Hey Mark?” Dick said after a while of silence, he’d taken his mask off at some point so he was looking at Mark intently with his beautiful blue eyes.“Yeah?” Mark swallowed, distracted.“Have you ever kissed someone?”Mark reeled back and choked on his own saliva. He gaped at Dick who still looked completely serious.“What? Why?!” Mark coughed, eyes wide.“I kind of want to kiss you,” Dick mumbled, blushing.Mark stared at Dick, trying to see whether or not he was joking, almost hoping; he didn’t find what he was looking for.“Are you serious?” Mark asked, ready to hit Dick if he was joking.“Of course I’m serious!” Dick exclaimed, looking offended.Mark blinked and muttered, “You really are.” “Duh!” Dick huffed and crossed his arms over his chest, pouting. Mark was in shock, he couldn’t believe that Dick Grayson actually wanted to kiss him. He didn’t make any sense. Dick obviously sensing Mark’s distressed, let his arms drop and moved closer to his friend, resting a hesitant hand on Mark’s thigh. Dick leaned closer so that their lips were inches apart. “Can I kiss you?” Dick mumbled, looking into Mark’s eyes. Mark not finding the words, nodded and that was all the permission Dick needed. He closed the gap between them, giving Mark a chaste kiss. Mark moved his lips hesitantly with Dick’s, nervous as he had never done this before. Dick smiled into the kiss, giving Mark more confidence that he was doing good. When they parted, Dick leaned back and smiled brightly, “I’ve been wanting to do that for ages.”“R-really?” Mark stuttered, blushing.“Yeah,” Dick nodded, a faint blush on his face too.“Oh,” Mark smiled, “Want to do it again?”Dick just grinned and leaned forward as an answer.
