Gaster has a very weak soul and it will often overwork himself. Sometimes he pushes himself to far and his soul starts to creates to much magic. When this happens it has to try and eject all the excess magic which is incredibly painfull and can trigger hallucinations and panic attacks. Whenever this happens His family is always there to help him out, epscially Web Dings who has delt with this situation many times. However they've had cases were Gaster has had to be taken to hospital to help his soul remove the magic. While it can be quite a light show for whoevers watching it is increbibly painfull for Gaster himself.
