Just thinking about how we usually hear Sam’s thoughts about Shi De but not Yu’s, so we naturally assume that Sam is more stuck in the Shi De headspace more than Yu. But the thing is Yu is a reserved person, and what if he’s using the language barrier (often looking confused) to not answer the question or BECAUSE of the barrier he can’t quite articulate his thoughts properly. Because I’ve seen a few interviews that say Yu’s the one who was more immersed in the role, and may be stuck with it (RayTian live, and some others). I just wonder what are Yu’s thoughts.
What made them say Yu’s still Shu Yi or had a hard time separating from the role? Sometimes I wonder if he actually did understand the questions, but avoids answering them because he didn’t want to go back or did not want to go too deep into it.
Also just wondering. If, you know, he was still in the Shu Yi headspace and projects Shi De onto Sam, how did he feel knowing that Sam has a girlfriend? Does that affect him? Could that be a reason why he can’t dive too much into Shu Yi headspace outside of the set?
I’m all for the SamYu ship (honestly, they’re one of the most sincerest pair I’ve ever seen) but well, reality is reality. I don’t know Sam’s current relationship status (nor do I actively care HAHA, I find that knowing the actor’s actual relationship kinda ruins the image I have for a certain drama, NOT THAT I BLAME THE ACTORS pls they can have their own lives and love interests. But yeah I usually avoid finding out more details about a certain actor if I love a drama pair so much), or if SamYu ever caught feelings for each other, but I just feel that the headspaces, or this method acting is quite dangerous. Brings out amazing results in the drama, but dangerous all the same.
