you should read siren's lament and I love yoo

Siren’s Lament is a really good romance webtoon! (I actually told a friend of mine about it and she obsessed over it). I’m still excited for when it comes back.

I Love Yoo was actually the first webtoon I have ever read! But as time passed by, I kinda stopped reading it due to many factors. I believe it should be classified as Drama than Romance since I waited for Shin-ae to find the guy (who I thought/wanted him to be Yeongi) [spoilers] but so far no much development in regards romance (excluding Dieter) or the fact that after it came back from the one year hiatus, it felt different. It’s just, this webtoon is not really for me 😕

I highly recommend Siren’s Lament for anybody who likes fantasy and romance with some comedy and I Love Yoo for people who like drama and complexity (on the plot) in webtoons

If I'm being honest, ever since Suho came back the story just got better. It feels as though I'm just reading the webtoon for Suho at this point 😂

I’m sad Bc I really wanna see Suho come back and have his moment to shine but Seojun is also a nice guy and I don’t want him to get hurt bUt SUHO IS MY #1 he went through so much already 😭😭 what are your thoughts?

I’m actually pretty ahead on the webtoon. The English version (Line) has currently 79 episodes (82 w/ coins) while the Korean version (Naver) has currently 91 episodes (94 with cookies/coins)

I have already read episode 94 so of course, my thoughts are way different from before.

With this in mind, I was extremely disappointed! Suho was the MAIN reason why I started reading the webtoon in the first place, I mean, he fell in love with Jugyeong because of her personality and her likes, they shared a lot in common. He went through so many hardships yet he was always there for her . Suho will always be my #1 on the webtoon.

Now for Seojun, he is a pretty charismatic person but I don’t quite see Seojun and Jugyeong as a couple. (Of course, I respect people who like them together)

So finally, whether Jugyeong ends with Suho or Seojun, I want Suho to have his happy ending.

At this point, do you expect Suho or Seojun to be endgame?

In my personal opinion, I would not be able to tell what the author is really aiming for.

The story itself doesn’t even have an actual plot anymore. It’s hard to predict what’s gonna happen next (but I can bet you it will be about some more drama between the main three).

The author said that “if she was Jugyeong, she would stay with her first love” pointing that Suho might be the endgame and it honestly has to, and I’ll tell you why:

You get the main character (Jugyeong) who thinks she’s ugly and likes horror movies. She accidentally gets tangled with a guy who seems to hate her yet she can’t get him off her shoulder (and he ACTUALLY knows how she looks without make up). They later become friends and start having romantic feelings for each other. We get to see their fun/cute interactions, they clearly have chemistry and they have the same taste. (But apparently the author just threw all this through the window)

On the other hand, you get Seojun who just started liking her because she was pretty?? He asked Jugyeong to help him buy some make up for his sister and blushed because she was close to him. It’s true that on the second season she starts having more real interactions with Seojun but now that they are dating, what’s the purpose? How does this have any effect on the plot? (I feel the story is just plain because of it. We don’t even get interactions between Seojun and Jugyeong the same way we did with Suho and Jugyeong).

I am not trying to convince you to like Suho over Seojun; I am trying to explain why the story itself makes more sense if Jugyeon and Suho end together, otherwise, what was the whole purpose of Season 1?

i agree about the true beauty thing. I think it will honestly get worse because they're making it into a live action and that's also why it mostly likely downgraded too. Also i'm a suho stan and not mainly cause i wanted her to end up with him but I genuinely liked his character. Now i feel like he's been reduced a lot to the boy that got away and now he's just sad. I think he deserves justice. It's sad cause there was really great potential/message for the comic.

I agree with you completely.

Suho was an amazing character and the way he first was presented to us was really good. A guy who seemed to want to blackmail Jugyeong because he first saw her real face but ended up that he just wanted to be her friend.

Though I don’t know if I completely agree how the author changed it eventually? (She confirmed it) How apparently he fell in love with her when she first recommended him the book? But I guess it kinda was like love at first sign so I give it a pass.

I personally prefer when you learn about the person first before you start having feelings for the other, but that just me.

It’s sad how all the first season is just now pointless. If I told you to start reading True Beauty starting from Season 2 you wouldn’t be missing anything, not because Season 1 was useless but because Season 2 didn’t bring anything from Season 1 or even making it look like a completely different story each season.

Although this is sort of late, I 100% agree with your thoughts on True Beauty. I genuinely have no clue what the story is about anymore. Don't get me wrong, I know that it's now heavily based on romance, but there is so much unnecessary drama. I have hope in the sense that the author knows what she's doing and I trust her choices but besides that I feel as though the entire story lost its touch.

I really miss the character development and interactions the author gave them on the first season, but now, it feels like.... they degraded.

Sadly, I don’t think it will be changing any time soon because on Naver (original translation) the webtoon has really good ratings.

I followed your blog because you also like suho and not a lot of people do. Though I kind of stopped following the webtoon. I wouldn’t mind if you started posting other webtoons either.

To be completely honest with you, me too.

I first fell in love with the webtoon because of Suho but as the webtoon progressed after he left, it went downhill for me 😕

I still try to read the (Korean) updates from time to time so I’m aware of what has been happening on the plot but is just not as exciting as how it used to be (in my honest opinion).

Likewise, I haven’t completely kept up with all Webtoon because of college and online school but I definitely plan on going back to read more stories! I might as well, start posting about other webtoons on this blog.

If you guys want recommendations, feel free to ask!
