Wedding!Calum - Planning The first thing you two decided, was that you were going to have a small intimate wedding. Your mother disagreed. She wanted everyone you had ever met to come to the wedding to celebrate her daughter getting married. She didn’t accept that you two just wanted your family, and close friends present. “I don’t know what to tell her Cal, I’ve already tried to tell her.” You grumbled to your fiancee getting into bed. “Do you want me to talk to her?” He didn’t want to. You knew he didn’t want to, but if would make you feel better, he was willing to go up against your mother and get what you two wanted. “No, I have to do it, she is my mum after all. It’s just that its our day, not hers. Why can’t she understand that.” you got under the covers and tried get comfortable. “I don’t know babe. We’ll figure it out when we see her tomorrow.” he said before turning off the bedside lamp and pulling you close. ~~~~~ “Great you two are both here!” your mother shouted from the doorway of the kitchen. You and Calum were sitting in the dining room, wedding magazines strewn everywhere, rolls of ribbon all over the floor, the room was a mess. “So I just finished the list of people we need to send invitations to on (Y/N)’s side! That brings the total up to 320 people so far! Aren’t you excited!” she laughed and clapped her hands together. You and Calum looked at each other. “Mum, I already told you that we want a small wedding, nothing elaborate and grand.” you signed for what felt like the hundredth time. “You can’t be serious honey, you only get married once! It should be huge!” she didn’t get it. “(Y/N)’s right, we only want it to be family there. Well, family and our closest friends. Please respect our wishes and let us do this.” Calum didn’t like confronting your mother, he had never done it before and he was afraid that it would make her hat him forever. After hours and hours of talking, your mother finally came around to the small wedding you two wanted. Sure, she wasn’t ecstatic about it, but you were happy and that was all that mattered to her.
