Tony wandered over and looked at his fiancé with great concern. Her eyes were red, her shoulders were tense and she had that look of “about to lose it” that he was very familiar with.
“What’s wrong? Will a massage help?”
She snorted and groaned again.
“This wedding planning is killing me! It’s becoming a nightmare of trying to please everybody but us. I just want it to end….” her voice trailed away with a frustrated whine and Tony sympathized. Ever since they’d announced their engagement, people had been trying to turn it into some big production and deep down, neither of them wanted that. They just wanted each other: forever.
He sat down beside Darcy and gently rubbed her shoulders, which began to relax under his touch. Between her work and the wedding planning, it was no surprise she was a mess of tension knots.
“On a scale of one to ten, how bad an idea would it be for us to just get married right now? No fuss, no obnoxious guests to suck up to.”
Darcy popped her head up again, eyes already perked up at the thought.
“Off the charts. Let’s do it!” She declared, grinning mischievously.
Tony gaped, completely stunned that she’d actually agreed.
“You sure?” He asked.
“Positively,” she said firmly. “There’s no use in prolonging the misery. I want to marry you now.”
Tony grinned and kissed her enthusiastically.
“I love you, Darcy.”
“Love you too, Tony.”
When Pepper returned home from a business trip to find Tony gone and a note that said, “BRB: went to get married” she sighed heavily and picked up the phone. Better cancel those reservations.
It was said that Bucky Barnes wooed Maria Hill on the power of his incredible dance skills. While that was partially true, it was actually just a small part of their weird courtship. When asked about this, Bucky would just chuckle and say with a wink that it was because he loved the way she handled a gun. This usually scandalized the person enough to shut them up, unless it was someone who knew them.
The truth was, Steve wasn’t the only supersoldier who liked badass brunettes.
The first time Bucky had seen Maria in action (when he wasn’t brainwashed), he’d been downright Star struck by her skills. She’d coolly taken out seven hostiles, scared a hardened arms dealer into wetting himself, and barely broken a sweat. He thought he might be in love.
Then one day, when he and Barton were having a very competitive shooting match at the range, with pride and money on the line, Agent Hill happened to be finishing up a session and watched them with mild interest.
Clint, who had impeccable aim with the bow, wasn’t quite as perfect with a gun and put a couple shots in the areas just outside the bullseye.
“Is that the best you can do, Barton?” Maria asked, looking very unimpressed.
Clint turned around and handed her the gun.
“Show me how it’s done then,” he said.
Maria proceeded to put three shots right through the last three holes Bucky had made in the dead center of the target. Then she added three more for good measure.
Clint and Bucky each pulled out a twenty and handed it to her.
“You’re amazing.” Bucky told her, finding most of his words had suddenly failed him.
“Practice, Barton,” she said to Clint.
“Barnes, close your mouth before something flies in.”
With that, she walked away, leaving Bucky staring after her, now helplessly smitten.
Maria Hill was not an easy person to get to know, but Bucky was nothing if not patient and she gradually began warming up to him. They became a dynamic team in the field and Natasha teased Bucky about it.
“I see you’ve been requesting Maria instead of me. I’m a little hurt, James.”
He rolled his eyes.
“You and Barton are like two peas in a pod. Couldn’t break that up now, could I?”
“I see right through you,” Natasha retorted with a wide grin. “But I do think you’ll be good for each other. Here’s a tip: she really likes dancing.”
Bucky pondered this very interesting bit of information as he prepared for his next mission, which ended up going very pear-shaped, thanks to the arrival of several more major players than they’d been expecting.
“If we get out of this, will you let me buy you dinner?” He asked, in between exchanging fire with the hostiles and running for the extraction point.
“Throw in a dance and I’ll consider it, Barnes,” Maria answered after another pause.
“Deal,” Bucky replied, trying to stifle his grin as he leveled a dude in their way.
It turned out that Maria appreciated Bucky’s dancing skills so much, that she agreed to a second date, and then a third and so on.
And a couple years later, there they were, gliding along the floor having their first dance as newlyweds. They were deliberately showing off with elaborate spins, dips, and twirls and having the time of their lives.
Maria’s skirt twirled as she spun around and back into Bucky’s arms, laughing at his ridiculous faces.
“Ever thought about Dancing With The Stars, James?” She asked him teasingly.
“Don’t like the outfits,” was his answer as he pulled her close. “And You’re the only one I wanna dance with, doll.”
“Sap.”
But she couldn’t help but smile tenderly and kiss her ridiculously dorky, badass husband.
“Have you forgiven him for chopping off his hair yet, sis?” Matt Lewis asked his sister teasingly, nodding at his new brother in law.
“Honestly, I got over it the second I saw him like this,” Darcy confessed, gesturing at Bucky’s recently neatly cropped head. “Jumped him on the spot. Much as I loved the hot hobo look, the well trimmed hair with the beard Really does it for me.” She pretended to fan herself, which made Bucky laugh and turn a bit pink.
“TMI, sis, TMI,” Matt groaned. “But seriously, congratulations.”
Darcy accepted her brother’s embrace, bittersweet emotions running through her. Matt and Mark had surprised and delighted her by coming to the ceremony, but her mother and father dear were openly hostile to the idea of even meeting Bucky, let alone Darcy marrying him.
After a particularly difficult phone call that started as an attempt at an olive branch and ended up with Darcy slamming the phone down in a rage and bursting into tears, Bucky had held his sobbing fiancé for a long time while she let her frustrations out. He was used to people being scared of him, so it didn’t shock him, but it clearly made her sad, so he’d just waited for the storm to pass and quietly reminded her how grateful he was to have her in his life.
“Thanks, guys. It means the world to me that you even came,” Darcy told them earnestly. She’d been determined to not let the hurt ruin her day and Bucky had been really comforting, but it still stung a bit.
“It’s pretty great to get to welcome another badass to the family,” Mark said, shaking Bucky’s hand jovially. “Welcome, bro.”
“Yeah. I admit I’ve been trying to contain my inner fanboy, but you two make an awesome couple,” Matt added.
“Don’t we though?” Darcy preened, wrapping her arm around her husband and leaning up for a kiss, which was happily given.
“We sure do,” Bucky agreed, looking at her like she was the only thing in the world, an expression that left her flushed and giddy.
“Annnnd, we’ve lost them,” Mark said in fake resignation. “Let’s go bother Barton. See ya at the reception, Darce!”
Omg all those prompts were adorable! So I'm suggesting Klaroline (of course) for number 17? I haven't ever seen that one done...
My ex invited me to their wedding and please be my date?
It wasstupid, really.
It’snot like the breakup had been recent. Hell, her and Enzo had been broken up andbest friends for two years before Bonnie even smiled at him for the firsttime. Caroline’s best friends had evenfought over who got Caroline as best lady/maid of honor (Bonnie won, ofcourse).
So itwas stupid. No one would judge her justbecause she had dated Enzo once, way back in high school, when a similar senseof humor and genuine fondness for each other had seemed like a good enoughreason to date, even if the kisses didn’t have much as far as spark went. They had been kids, and it’s not like shehadn’t had a boyfriend since.
Butstill, there was just… something sadabout going to her ex’s wedding (even if she was maid of honor), and not havinga date.
AndKlaus Mikaelson had been there, smirking at her, when she’d thought about hersadly lacking love life. Maybe he was aGrade A jackass, but man did he look good in a suit. And that was all she really wanted for a date– someone that could pull off a suit.
Thewords were out before she could stop it.
“Willyou be my date to my best friends’ wedding?”
Hisexpression was almost worth the embarrassment she felt having asked him. It was no secret that she wasn’t his biggestfan – she had, after all, stapled his tie to the announcement board that oneparticularly memorable staff meeting – and his mouth actually fell open when herealized that he hadn’t, in fact, misheard he question.
Underhis stare, Caroline felt about an inch tall and utterly foolish.
“I’msorry. Never mind. Ignore that. Moment of weakness-”
“Yes.”
Shefroze, her own mouth falling open at the answer, and he gave her a smirk andreached out to push it closed.
“You’llcatch flies, Love.”
Thatline was all it took to have Caroline letting out a little shriek of rage athis back, which made him chuckle as he walked away.
Good ina suit or not, she was so going to regret this.
—
KlausMikaelson had been trying to win Caroline Forbes over for nearly a year. Originally, he had found her to be prickly, had enjoyed needling her simply because he felt she needed to be needled.
Thenshe had stapled his tie to the wall, and call him a masochist, but he waspretty sure that had been the moment he fell in love with the woman.
But tenmonths after the occurrence, and he had been no closer to finding a way to getunder his skin in a romantic, rather than annoying, way. Until she had walked up to him, cool as youplease, and asked him out.
He wasn’tsure what mystical lottery he had won, but he was hardly going to turn her down…even if he couldn’t avoid a little more needling.
So heshowed up at the church, because she was maid of honor and rather busy, havinggotten as much information as he could from Stefan, whom had somewhat of afriendship with Caroline. ApparentlyBonnie Bennett, the bride, was her oldest friend. But it was the Groom that interested Klaus.
Caroline’sex.
Andapparently it was old news, but that didn’t change the fact that Caroline hadbeen involved with this man – Lorenzo-and that she apparently felt the need to have a date at his wedding.
Okay,so Klaus might feel a little jealous.
“Hey,Damon will take you to a seat,” Caroline said rushing up to him. When they were face to face, she paused for amoment and considered him, before reaching out to straighten his tie.
“Do Imeet your approval?”
“You’reperfect,” she replied, with an almost whimsical look on her face, and Klausfelt a grin begin to form. Seeing it,Caroline gave herself a little shake, and her expression because the usual mixof distraction and irritation he was used to from her. “Which is so beyond annoying I could scream.”
“Well,Love, if you really-”
“Do not finish that,” she pointed a fingerat him severely. “Go, sit. I’ll see you after the ceremony.”
Theceremony was lovely – of course it was, from what Klaus understood, Carolinehad planned the whole thing – and when the groom kissed the bride, no onelooked happier than Caroline standing at their side. Which made Klaus frown thoughtfully, becausehe could read no jealousy in her expression.
So whythe need for a date?
Hecontemplated that through the dinner, and then as Bonnie and Lorenzodanced. When he could finally twirlCaroline onto the dance floor, curiosity was damn near killing him.
“The groomis an ex of yours.”
“How doyou” – Caroline cut herself off, her eyes narrowing - “Stefan, of course. He gossips worse than my grandmother. Yes. Enzo and I dated. In highschool.”
Oversix years ago. Klaus twirled her around, and tugged her back in to sway slowly, contemplating this new information.
“Thenwhy the need for a date?”
Carolineshrugged uncomfortably.
“Because, stupid as it sounds, I didn’t want to be that single ex. Even if I hardly count as an ex anymore.”
“I don’tthink so,” Klaus decided, as the music picked, so he sped up their tempo, whirling her a little quicker, appreciating how well she fell into the steps ofthe dance.
“Oh? Then tell me, oh wise Klaus Mikaelson – why didI need a date?” she drawled out.
Klauscaught her after another whirl, dipping her back, leaning in so close they werealmost kissing. He heard Caroline’sbreath catch, and he smirked at the sign that she was very very aware of him. Just ashe was of her.
“Ithink you wanted to ask me out. And thiswas a convenient reason.”
“I thinkI’d know if I wanted to ask you out,” Caroline retorted as they straightened, her brow furrowed.
“Wouldyou? Or would you just hide ourattraction with barbed comments, because I’m not the type of man you imaginedever wanting?”
“Ithink you’re arrogant.”
“Oh, I verymuch am.”
When hepulled her in, pressed his lips to hers, he half expected her to slap him andstorm off. It would be worth the brieftaste of her.
He didn’texpect her to bury her hands in his hair and kiss him back.
But hewasn’t going to argue.
Theywere interrupted after what must have been several minutes, because Klaus didn’trecognize the song playing, but what seemed like mere seconds.
“Gorgeous,I think we’re supposed to be the overeager ones,” Lorenzo drawled out. He danced next to them with their new bride, who had hidden her smile in his shoulder.
“Don’tbe jealous because you two waited too long and now you’re to the settled stage,”Caroline shot back, but her face was flushed, and there was a new awareness inher gaze when she looked at Klaus.
“I’mperfectly happy being settled,” Enzo replied, his expression when he looked atBonnie filled with adoration. Caroline’sexpression softened into fondness as her friends danced away. Klaus found himself unable to resist touchingher, so he reached out and stroked her cheek. She turned it into his touch for a moment.
“Istill don’t like you,” she informed him at last.
“Comeon, Love. I bet I could grow on you.”
“Like fungus?”
Klauschuckled and pulled her into dancing once more, her body fitting into his justabout perfectly.
“Take achance,” he dared her. “Get to know me.”
Shelooked at him, bit her lip, and then her mouth twisted ruefully.
“Fine. But only because that kiss was… nice. And if I don’t like what I learn, I’m stapling your tie again.”
“Iwouldn’t have it any other way,” he twirled and dipped her again. “And that kiss was more than nice.”
Ratherthan wait for a reply, he kissed her again. Just to prove to her that he was right.
Supernatural sat in a chair in his room, staring at the suit he was supposed to put on. It was so strange, getting married, he never thought that he would. Well with his lifestyle it was far too dangerous to. He sighed and cradled his face in his hands with a sigh. Wow this was big. Really big. Could he go through with it? Really go through with it? Maybe.
A knock at the door pulled him out of his head. Clearing his throat he called out, “Come in." There was a pause before the door opened and Archer stepped in with a small smile. Supernatural instantly smiled back, sitting up in his chair, and then leaning back when she walked over and sat on the top of his thighs.
"Shouldn’t you be getting ready?" He said with a half chuckle, his hand resting on her legs and gently stroking her skin where it showed under her dress. Archer nodded and said softly with her fingers starting to work though his hair, “Yeah, but I was getting nervous so I wanted to come see you." Thinking of his own nervousness Supernatural nodded and wrapped an arm around her waist, asking kindly, “What’s on your mind then?"
"Well…" she began, a hand moving to rest on the bump that had been expanding the size of her stomach, “Just if this is a good idea. Ya know? Like… maybe there’s an easier way to go about this? Or a better one… for you." Her expression dropped at the last couple words, and it made Supernatural’s heart sink.
"We’ve talked about this. Everything is fine. This is the easiest way to get shared custody without having to deal with too much legal bullcrap." He smiles and rubbed her back to try and calm her nerves. Though she seemed more nervous now, worrying her bottom lip between her teeth. “Are you sure you want to help with the ki-"
"Archer." the ex-angel interrupted smiling, “I want to help. I want to do this." he reassured.
"But what about Doc-"
"He understands. Archer you don’t need to worry. Everyone is fine with and understand the situation, so stop worrying and enjoy being a bride today." he said gently, shifting some under her.
The agent nodded and pushed herself up, stepping back when the hunter stood after her. She looked up at him for a moment before hugging him close, her bump making it awkward. “Thank you Super. I really appreciate what you’re doing. I don’t want to do this alone."
Supernatural was caught off guard by the hug, but quickly hugged her back, rubbing her lower back soothingly. “I know you don’t." He pulled back a bit and brought a hand up to tilt her chin up, glad to see the smile on her face. “Now go and get ready, Sugar lips. You don’t want to be late to your wedding." He leaned down and chastely kissed her lips, before setting another brief kiss to her forehead to send her off.
"I don’t know Potter hasn’t told me, it’s a secret."
"Probably a secret cause he doesn’t know yet himself."
Anon turned and glared at Supernatural, a very deep frown on his face. The hunter simply flashed a grin and took another bite of the apple in his hand. “I’m just sayin, dude, he hardly plans anything this far in advice." There was a pause so he could take another bite, the crunch of teeth biting though apple filling the room momentarily, “I mean hell I’m surprised he planned this whole wedding."
Anon continued to scowl, before turning back to the mirror and smoothing out his tie. “I put the wedding together." he said flatly, a slight huff in his voice at the end. Supernatural instantly let out a solid ‘HA’ before speaking, “That proves my point exactly! You planned this whole thing and it’s friggin’ awesome, but how much you wanna bet he’s sitting in his room scrambling to put together a honeymoon place?"
"Even if that were true, which I know it’s not," Anon started to retort, “Anywhere he picks I know will be better than some motel down the road." The fandom shifted his green eyes to the reflection of Super in the mirror, who was now also wearing a scowl.
"Oi, Doc said it didn’t matter where we went and the whole thing was kinda short notice okay? There’s only so much you can do with fake credit cards and warrants on your ass for credit card and identity fraud." said the hunter defensively. Anon just laughed and looked over his shoulder “Regardless you have no room to comment on Potter’s plans, whatever they may be."
Sneering Supernatural took another bite of his apple and muttered under his breath, “Whatever, you’d be satisfied as long as the destination has bed posts Potter can tie you up to."
It was only a minute later Super was getting physically thrown out of the room with a bruise forming on his right cheek.
Staring in the mirror the Doctor straightened his bowtie. Everyone else was wearing ties but not him, he was fashionable enough to know bowties were in fact, cool.
His reflection stared back at him, nervous almost ginger—auburn really—figiting with his bowtie and smoothing out his suit methodically. He was so nervous that he was actually shaking. It as so unlike him to shake from nervousness. The knock at the door snapped him to attention long enough to calm his shaking. Turning he set his green eyes on the door as it opened, revealing his love in the most dapper suit he had seen the man in.
Supernatural grinned, looking Doctor Who over with a pleased smile. "Isn’t it bad luck to see the bride before the wedding?" the Doctor playfully teased. The ex-angel snickered and leaned against the door frame, casually putting his hands in his pockets, “Well I think there has to be a bride for that to apply Doc."
The timelord stifled a giggle and walked over to his fiance, reaching out and straightening his tie. “Well regardless isn’t it bad luck anyways?" Doc said, rising a brow while his fingers smoothed out the TARDIS blue tie. It was Super’s idea to have the main color be blue. Doc loved that idea.
"I think there’s worse things that cause bad luck that we’ve done. If anything this should cancel everything out so then we should be in the clear." Super explained with a chuckle. Doc could only roll his eyes with a smile. Supernatural could be such a delightful idiot at times, especially when he tried to invent excuses for things. But the timelord loved it.
"Whatever you say my Angel." the fandom half giggled, finally taking his hands away from his fiance’s tie, and thus his chest. A grin broke across Supernatural’s face, catching one of his hands. “Well come on I have to come up with some reason to see you." He mused, loosely lacing their fingers.
"You’ll see me in 20 minutes on the aisle." The Doctor said laughing.
"Not soon enough."
"You’re impatient."
"You love it."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"Well I should hope so if we’re getting married."
The two fandoms instantly grinned at each other, reveling in the warm silence between them. Doctor Who was the first to break it, kissing Super’s cheek and giving him an affectionate nuzzle. “Now get out so I can finish getting ready. I’ll have you know I’m getting married to a very handsome man in 20 minutes.
