"Tyler Galpin is coming I NEED TO LEARN EVERYTHING I CAN ABOUT HYDES"
AND YET her ONLY QUESTION WAS:
"if you were in love why did he try to kill you 🥺🥺" oh my poor girl
And once it was confirmed for her that it was only because he was forced to, she decided to bind him to her FOREVER so they could be together and no one could be able to turn him against her.
And then IMMEDIATELY HIS NEW MASTER TRIED TO TURN HIM AGAINST HER. Exactly what she feared 🤧
you can't tell me I'm wrong
Wednesday and Tyler Hospital Scene Analysis
I was intrigued by this scene at the hospital because it kept subverting my expectations, and that really added this element of dark humor but also pathos to the scene.
Other people have already pointed out the little details about Tyler’s…gifts that show the sheer amount of thought, effort, and planning put into them, like how he gives her an entire bouquet of dead roses (which meant he probably stole them and waited for them to die before giving them to her) and wrapped the stems in black and white tissue paper ahead of time so she can safely hold them with her allergy. He also hand wrote her a card to accompany the roses. Normally, such a sweet, thoughtful gesture would be heartwarming, but it’s chilling because the card has a death threat written in it, the roses are dead even if she prefers them that way, and we know he’s obsessed with her and can turn into an angry, violent monster at will.
And yet the sheer amount of thought and effort he put into the gifts is so over the top that it crosses the line twice and comes back around to being darkly humorous and almost sweet, in a twisted, macabre way. Yes, he's going out of his mind and is acting really creepy and claims he wants her dead, but he didn't have to be so extra about it. A death threat scrawled on a piece of paper would’ve sufficed. Killing her in the hospital while she was still in a coma and no one else was watching would’ve been possible if that was all he cared about. Instead, he’s telling on himself big time with these grand gestures. I’m sure part of it is because he wanted to toy with her, but at the same time, his real feelings are leaking out of the deranged Hyde persona, and he can't stop it from happening.
Hate is a feeling, Miss Addams.
Along with fear
Contempt
Concern
And love.
All emotions that you think can be boxed up and stored in your subconscious.
But that box is a ticking time bomb.
And if you don’t find a way to defuse it...
It could explode at the most calamitous moment.
I adore how Isaac’s whole story is that he is cold and ambitious because he doesn’t have a human heart anymore but he is actually so full of love like he’s so affectionate and gentle to Francoise they don’t fight or raise their voice at each other they are always tenderly holding each other like they’re gonna lose each other because they are and he kept his promise to her like he could have selfishly continued the original plan and still try to save her but what she wanted was more important to him like it makes me iNSANE.
And don’t even get me started on Gomez saying whatever shred of goodness he had ended up in Thing … I need a minute… actually a week or a few months, maybe a year….
There’s something really interesting about how Wednesday and Enid have opposite relationships with their mothers. Both of them feel like their mothers are pressuring them to be something, but they react in completely different ways.
Enid feels the pressure from her mother to become a full werewolf, and she really wants to live up to that. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t fully “wolf out,” but she still keeps trying , desperate to belong and even afraid she might end up dying alone without a pack.
With Wednesday, it’s the opposite. She believes Morticia wants her to follow in her footsteps, to be like her in personality, achievements, even relationships. So Wednesday constantly pushes back. She argues with Morticia about not wanting to get married, about not caring about her mother’s success at school, and insists that she’ll never be like her.
But the irony is, we never actually see Morticia pressuring her. On camera, Morticia is nothing but supportive and accepting of Wednesday.
Then in Season 2, Part 1, they get what they want and the contrast grows even more. Enid finally becomes exactly what her mother wanted her to be, while Wednesday becomes even more distant from Morticia.
So now the question is that is really what they want??
I think it's good that no one ever finds out if Isaac's normifying experiment works. It fuels the tragedy. I feel like its important that this "getting rid of one's magic to live a normal easier life" remains a dream, because you can't do that. You can't run away from the thing that makes you different in this society, because it's a part of you, you are born with it and you die with it, and becoming normal or pretending to be normal is not going to make the more normal people accept you, because you just aren't good enough for them, and that will never change because it's the standard they choose. They will always choose a standard that is unreachable to you if they do not want you with them. Look at Nevermore saying they protect all outcasts and then abandoning Hydes to their own luck.
