lance crushing on the weird skater dude that walks into his 9:30 morning class late every. single. time.
want the basics? sure.
lance wakes up early every monday and wednesday and gets to class by 9:25 am
lance kind of just zones out when his professor talks
but then his attention zeroes down on the door at 9:40 am
and he tries not to stare at the guy
(but he has a freaking mullet for crying out loud!)
the first sessions of class, the skater guy walks in late and sits at the table on the other side of the room
lance is grateful for this because he doesn’t know how to socialize with people (he’s awkward or too dorky)
and then one day skater dude comes in and there are no seats for him at the table he usually sits at
lance starts to sweat
the only empty seats left are beside him or across from him (the tables are circular and lance doesn’t think he could sit through a class with a cute skater dude across from him)
but he also doesn’t think he could handle being close to him either
and the skater dude walks over, sets his skateboard down, and sits right next to lance
lance smiles politely, and he receives a nod and the tiniest of smiles (lance is convinced his mind was playing tricks on him)
lance doesn’t say a word the entire class
next class session, lance is relieved, there’s a seat for skater dude at his usual table
but of course
skater dude comes and plops right next to lance with a smile ( a real one)
and lance finally musters up a lame: “this is unusually early for you” (9:32)
and he gets: “are you keeping track?”
lance turns his head, blinking because he can’t control his blush
“it’s hard to miss your mullet”
“it’s not a mullet”
“it sure looks like one”
that class session runs smoothly
lance is less surprised when the skater dude sits next to him monday
