The Blacklist: 9x08 “Dr. Rasmik Maier (No. 168)”
“Should we go home?”
I’ve seen this scene more than a hundred times, and think about it once a day so I think I have the authority to tell you why it’s more devastating than you might realize!
Not only is Weecha having to compete emotionally against her own sister, who BROKE UP WITH RED ALREADY, but also against the ghost of the woman who he devoted his life to.
Neither of those women are there, and yet she still can’t hold onto his attention for more than a glance before his mind returns to them.
Emphasis on the “we” in her questioning tone. THEIR HOME, THEIR FUCKING HOME because she’s the only one left who hasn’t abandoned him, even as she quietly yearned as he literally dated her sister FOR TWO YEARS, she remains unquestionably loyal to him. That trailer isn’t the home she’s referring to. She wants their home to be with each other.
She doesn’t care about being his second, or even third choice. Being chosen is enough for her.
And what does Red say?
“Do you think she’ll come back?”

Red: Cute as a button, isn’t she? You should see what she does with a chicken. Wrings it, bleeds it, and plucks it before it ever knows it was dead.
Presenting custom Funko Pop of Weecha Xiu of the Blacklist.
I admit I held deep resentment against this character when she first appeared. How dare she take Dembe's place? But she has grown on me. She has not only loyalty for Red, but also compassion for him, telling Cooper it would be cruel to keep Red away from Agnes. She was concerned for Morgan, and seemingly upset when she learned that he didn't make it. And she is undeniably bad-ass.
She's still quite the mystery, as we have no real idea of how that relationship came to be or even how to define that relationship. If we're not having Dembe back at Red's side, then I do hope we can continue to have Weecha there, despite my feeling very much the opposite about her sister.
Below are the two funkos I used to make her.
In a literal blink and you'll miss it moment (that I missed the first time around, but it was brought to my attention by an anon) Weecha is wearing Red's shirt before disappearing into their bedroom.
WHAT IS THE BLACKLIST DOING?!
Weecha, hi. It's, um, Aram, remember?
