Today was such a beautiful day at the beach 💕💕
For Sukka, Zutara, and Taang—what does each couple do over a free weekend where they don’t have any work obligations and the kids have been shipped off to their aunt/uncle or grandparents?
Boomie! How goes things? Thanks for the ask! Sorry I'm still using bad nicknames... It's been an odd day for me lol. Anyway! What do our fav couples do on a free weekend? I think we all know why they're getting a weekend away from the kids (ahem, sex), but lemme think of other reasons to make it interesting.
Sukka: They seem like the couple that plans on not doing anything, but the idea of them not doing anything bothers them. So Sokka makes some impromptu date ideas and they spend their day going through the itinerary. Some things they may do include sparring, reading each other haiku’s (running joke for them), napping, shopping, and extravagant dinners. For them it’s about trying to be chill and going with the flow, and then just craving things to do together!
Zutara: They enjoy waking up late in a city or town that barely recognizes them. Zuko will brew a nice pot of tea for them and they'll spend the morning chatting, reading, quiet things. Maybe later in the day they walk through the town and chat about random things. I can see them sparring each other later in the afternoon and after Katara beats Zuko, they go back to their inn. To end the day, I bet they cook together. Katara’s pretty good at it (and often misses SWT food), and Zuko has no idea what he’s doing, so they make it a fun activity for them where she teaches him all her favorite meals from her childhood. I think for them their weekend activities would revolve around de-stressing from running a nation.
Taang: They love sparring and dancing and just being their chaotic selves together. If they get time away from the kids and work, it’s about going on mini adventures and enjoying time together. Toph is always itching for a sparring match or trying a new move on of her officers did on a perp, and Aang asks Toph to go out to the town and dance with him all the time. She never says no, and their dance skills are pretty unrivaled at this point. They also participate in a bit of harmless mischief around towns. Sometimes they like to pretend they’re spirits either blessing or cursing a town for a few days and then leaving. For them, it's about enjoying the temporary freedom like they were when they were kids. They like momentary breaks from their responsibilities because it helps them jump back in and give their attention to their family and jobs.
