Before I head to a new assignment, here are some final words on a few topics.
Thanks for the election day shout out in the New York Times Joe Nocera! We hope you all voted today (and if you’re on the east coast, you still have half an hour to get in line!), but how much easier would it have been to vote on a weekend...
If we can bank online, it's time to take a serious look at voting online. We can't think of a more deserving group to test out online absentee voting than the men and women in our armed forces. Congratulations to Texas for their successful test run!

Why February?
It's election day in Chicago today, which has us wondering, "Why February"? Seriously. Today's high is 24 with snow showers, and from what we understand that's pretty standard for Chicago this time of year. Anybody know why Chicago is voting today?
Support for weekend voting in New Jersey! Let's keep this momentum going!
Why do we expect people working long hours and juggling day care to stand in long lines to vote on a weekday, anyway?
We love this headline.
Friday was the busiest day so far for early voting in the Nov. 4 general election but Augusta-Richmond County’s elections director expects things to pick up with seven straight days of voting opportunities starting Saturday.
Peak Voting
We ran some numbers, and 25% of the Boston voters who made it to the polls yesterday snuck it in after work, voting between 6 and when the polls closed at 8pm. Peak voting hours overwhelm poll workers, and cause long lines. You know what would solve that problem? Weekend voting.
