Weekend walk 🖤🥰🖤
Nice 2 hour walk this morning around Langsett Reservoir!
Stopped at a cafe for coffee afterwards ☕️🥾

9/16: Look up when you walk.
Sometimes I don’t know who I am anymore. I woke up at 6:45 a.m. and went on a four mile walk (fine, 3.92 miles) by myself. What?! I’ve never done anything remotely like this in my life! We’ll recap this in a second, first let’s review Friday.
Work was busy in spurts. I was extremely productive until around 1:30 p.m. when I spent the next hour catching up on all your lovely posts (I was at least three days behind). At 3 p.m. I had a conference call that lasted until about 3:30 p.m. when I was originally planning to skeedattle to the weekend. The call produced follow-up work so next thing I knew I was non-stop busy until 4:30 p.m. when I finally pulled away and got the hell out of there.
After dropping off my used blender bottle in my car, I walked straight to the mall across the street (dangerous) to get my ring inspected for its six-month check-up. Since I was already at the mall I decided to head over to Torrid to try on the dress I was eyeing online. On my way to Torrid, Bed Bath & Beyond caught my eye and I decided to pop in for the first time in about 15 years. Kevin and I have been bath crazy since moving to this house with an amazing tub. I decided it was time to buy my very first bath bomb (and one for Kevin, too) and some bubble bath solution. Haven’t used them yet but we’re very excited to!!
Once at Torrid I immediately found the dress then decided that since it was Friday night and I had no plans why not take my sweet time and try on other goodies. I went around the store picking up every single item that appealed to me and the amazing CSRs kept putting them into a room for me as I continued to grab more and more and more. I ended up spending close to two hours at Torrid having the BEST time! This is why I don’t shop in person often, I take forreevverr because I want to try everything on! I ended up coming out of the store with two dresses and three tops. But NOT the dress I went in there to buy!! It looked really cute but it didn’t do anything for my shape. I have a pretty tiny waist in comparison to my bust and hips and the dress didn’t accentuate it enough to make it worth $70. BUT I did find an amazing dress that I literally emotionally burst when I tried it on!!! See above dressing room picture. I loved it so so so so much!!! AND it turns out, once I got to the check-out that that dress was actually a clearance item which meant I could go to the clearance rack and pick-out an item for FREE! Know what that meant? I went back to the racks and spent the next 40 minutes picking out new things and then trying them all on. After 15 different items that were a no-go I started to get frustrated until I finally tried on a dress that fit well enough to take home for free. It has this weird neck tie/scarf thing that I’m just going to tie behind my neck and go with it.
Dinner Friday night, not shown because Tumblr won’t let me upload more than 10 pictures and I couldn’t cut anything else (because really though, pictures of Saki and me are far more important than seeing a repeat of last night’s dinner), was leftover burgers and a salad. Yumzos!
OKAY! Tired of reading yet? This post is much longer than anticipated. Whatevsssss let’s get into my solo walk!!
I have never, repeat never, gone on a walk by myself since moving to Virginia almost two years ago (how has it been two years?!). I used to go on walks all the time back in California but I never felt inspired to do so here apparently. Since Kevin hurt his ankle the other week (did I tell you about that yet????) our walks together are on a temporary hiatus so I knew if I wanted to get a walk in it would have to be on my own.
I woke up this morning randomly at 6:45 a.m. wide awake and bored. Who wakes up bored??? I weighed myself to see me still stuck at 235.something angry at my body for not showing me 234 yet despite how well I’ve been eating lately. I didn’t want to watch TV, I didn’t want to clean, I still had FOUR hours until I could eat anything (thanks IF) so I decided to go for a walk. The weather was GORGEOUS out. 59 degrees and sunny. FUCK ME it was perfect. I dressed in an obnoxiously bright green shirt so I wouldn’t get hit by a car, grabbed my sunglasses because I had a headache (and I STILL went for a walk?! WHAT), and headed out the door before I could talk myself out of it. Guys, it was delightful!!! I didn’t listen to music and wore my hair down because I didn’t want to be an easy victim in case someone tried to kidnap me. I took the route Kevin and I normally take so I felt comfortable in the area and on my own. I took the above pictures and even stopped to send a MarcoPolo to my sister in front of the water since she’s the only other East Coast person who would be awake at 7:30 a.m.
I feel sooooo proud of myself for getting out there and tackling this! Hoping I feel inspired to do so again tomorrow! AND since I exercised I didn’t feel as bad about my breakfast tortilla! I’m obsessed with that breakfast if you haven’t noticed yet.
Not sure what to make for dinner tonight yet but I’ll figure it out soon. Hoping my body is paying attention to my actions today and shows me 234 tomorrow. Even if not, I’m not going to be discouraged and am going to double down and keep at it.
HAPPY WEEKEND FRIENDS!!!!!
