It's another character from Sherlock Holmes canon. My favourite villain, to be more precise. Charles Augustus Milverton from The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton. You can read or listen the original story here.

Mr CAM is the king of blackmailers and Holmes absolutely loathes him:

"He is the king of all the blackmailers. Heaven help the man, and still more the woman, whose secret and reputation come into the power of Milverton. With a smiling face and a heart of marble he will squeeze and squeeze until he has drained them dry. The fellow is a genius in his way, and would have made his mark in some more savoury trade. --- I have said that he is the worst man in London, and I would ask you how could one compare the ruffian who in hot blood bludgeons his mate with this man, who methodically and at his leisure tortures the soul and wrings the nerves in order to add to his already swollen money-bags?"

It's one of my favourite stories among with The Adventure of the Copper Beeches (my previous url violethunted being a homage to Violet Hunter, Holmes' client in this story). Read or listen it here. CAM is one of my favourite stories, not only because the villain is such a horrible man, but also because of many Holmes/Watson friendship moments. Who doesn't like some burglary and hand-holding? There's also an engagement. And the end is maybe the funniest canon ending. There are just so many moments that are pure gold.

Charles Augustus Milverton will also be the new villain in BBC's Sherlock, although his name is changed into Charles Augustus Magnussen (probably because the actor, Lars Mikkelsen, brother of Mads Mikkelsen, is Danish). I hope the name Milverton will make an appearance in some other form.

Ok so I got this dress and its just plain black and it's gets tighter at the waist and flows out to just above my knee. It's got a bronze zipper on the back and goes pretty much up to my neck, but not all the way. [and it has packets!!!] And I really want to wear it to my schools dance on Friday but its short sleeved. And I don't know what to do with my hair. Or what jacket to wear with it. Idk if anyone is going to look at this but I need help deciding. I have a dark stained jean jacket and I light more faded one. -dark would make it look a lot more 'powerful' and mysterious, but the light one would look softer, more refined, more hipster- And I have a red one like Martha jones except with more buckles I have a few sweaters too, mostly gray or white. And I have a military jacket but I'd have to take it off because its too warm to wear in the school I could either do my hair straight, wavy, or curly. Wavy is basically just wand curls but curly is all natural. And I really want to wear these short ankle boots but they're high heeled and make me 100+ times taller than everyone considering I'm already tall. I have knee brown boots, and I have black combat boots. I also have black flats but I get horrible blisters when I wear them. And I'm wearing a brown braided belt around my waist. Idk what to do but if u think of a good combo for me put it in my ask or something. Thanks:)

Aw, thank you lovely! Yeah, there is so much drama on Tumblr caused by spoilers and not tagging etc and it’s like, I get that it’s a book and stuff, but not everyone is a fast reader. I take foreverrr to read a book, not because I don’t enjoy it, but because I have the attention of a 2 week old puppy, so spoilers are kind of inevitable for me! But oh well, thanks so much, that’s so sweet of you!
