Cairngorms National Park (Scottish Gaelic: Pàirc Nàiseanta a' Mhonaidh Ruaidh) is a national park in northeast Scotland, established in 2003. It was the second of two national parks established by the Scottish Parliament, after Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, which was set up in 2002. The park covers the Cairngorms range of mountains, and surrounding hills. Already the largest national park in the United Kingdom, in 2010 it was expanded into Perth and Kinross.
Venezuela needs help!
I know this is not my usual stuff, but please, read this post! It's very important!
Venezuela, my country, suffered two major earthquakes (doublet earthquakes, as it's known) separated by a mere 39 seconds each on June 24th. They were of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5, respectively, and have left unimaginable destruction in their wake.
My family, friends, and I have been incredibly fortunate to escape unharmed, but thousands, if not millions, of people are being affected by this tragedy in various parts of the country, with La Guaira and Caracas being among the worst-affected areas. The country's main airport had to be closed due to the extensive damage it sustained.
Around 800 buildings have collapsed... People have lost everything they had: their homes, their families. The government didn't "take action" until two days after the tragedy; ordinary citizens were the ones carrying out rescue efforts with their bare hands and fingernails while the national authorities did nothing.
There are more than 50,000 people missing to date, most of them are still trapped under the rubble, and the only ones trying to do anything about it are the international rescuers (those who have been able to reach the country, because this corrupt regime is hindering them) and the citizens searching for their family and friends buried under tons of concrete.
Hospitals that have been suffering from resource shortages for almost three decades were filled with supplies within days of the tragedy, thanks to the efforts of citizens who have been donating everything they can across the country. Some of these collection centers have been targeted for closure by the regime under the pretext that it's illegal...
(And no, it's not. By doing that, they're preventing aid from reaching the people who need it most.)
Venezuela lacks the necessary resources to deal with a tragedy of this magnitude: there are no protocols, not enough tools, no heavy machinery, and no effort on the part of the national authorities. We need international aid; we need to help each other because the government won't.
Please, if you can, donate. If you can't, at least please share this and any other posts about this situation with your friends, family, and on social media so that it reaches more people. We need all the help we can get.
DO NOT DONATE TO THE VENEZUELAN RED CROSS! PART OF THEIR FUNDS GO DIRECTLY TO THE GOVERNMENT, WHICH HAS DONE NOTHING FOR ITS CITIZENS!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
one of the most insidious wellness/health trends is the “women ditch your birth control because it’s bad for you!!! they’re trying to poison you but it’s okay you can track your cycle naturally and that alone will prevent pregnancy”
can guarantee that if you go into the following of these accounts, the sources cited from these accounts, the tagged posts from these accounts - they are nearly always linked to greater movements about “restoring the west”, “we need women at home having children again” and other weird trad shit
“many women have issues with birth control because women are routinely dismissed/misdiagnosed by medical professionals” =/= “you should trust suspicious people about high risk alternatives”
My grandmother used the rhythm method.
My grandmother had 7 daughters.
Use birth control. At least condoms jfc y'all.
To add on to "T is not birth control": there are forms of hormonal birth control that don't conflict with T! Anything progesterone-only (the implant; hormonal IUDs; the depo provera shot; the progesterone-only pill) doesn't affect T. So if these methods work for you, you can take them while taking T 👍
and look. It's true that no method of birth control is 100%, perfectly effective. But modern birth control methods (the pills, shots, IUDs, hell, even modern condoms) are significantly more effective than just using natural methods like the rhythm method or just breastfeeding longer and hoping for the best.
Safe and effective birth control is a huge deal. Don't throw it away because bigots are trying to mind-control you. If you look at all the facts and decide that you don't like it, that's your choice, but please make an informed decision first.
Once again begging: if you use birth control and experience all the horrible symptoms wellness influences insist are poisoning you? Please speak to a doctor or health professional. Even one "method" has variations, different times of day to take it, different dosages, same dosage but different manufacturers, different combinations of hormones... and that's just "the pill", there's different things based on what you need. Chemical or material (copper IUD) oral or injection, anything. If your doctor is at all decent they will work with you to find something else that works if you ask to review it.
Sometimes I worry that all this reaction is just because some people are lucky and contraception is the only medication they take. Both chronic and temporary conditions I had took trial and error to figure out what works best. Every medication has side effects you need to balance with their usefulness. "this is fine but could be better" or "well you reacted poorly to this, so I'll give you a different kind if antibiotics, it takes longer but will make you feel less nauseous". Any decent doctor tells me "lets see how you react to this and then we'll see if we should adjust it".
and the worst thing? Influencers will tell you to quit certain medications cold turkey and they point to your reaction as proof of getting over an addiction or it having been bad. A lot of meds, even very benign and easy to take ones, will cause a negative reaction if you quit all at once and your body gets used to the new balance. And there is always "I feel so well clearly I don't need it anymore". That's the devil talking
if it's so unethical to want to avoid giving birth to an unhealthy baby why should women avoid drugs and alcohol during pregnancy
what it all comes down to is the belief that pregnancy is god's will, that babies are gods creations, and women's bodies are just the vessels he uses to make life. it's the belief that pregnancy is passive. anything the woman does to actively interfere with god's plan is her playing god and acting above her station.
but we know this is bullshit, that women's bodies make unconscious decisions regarding pregnancy, from conception to miscarriage, prioritizing her welfare above all else. if binge drinking during pregnancy is an active choice that creates a disabled child, materially so is continuing a pregnancy that you know will create a disabled child. there is no difference in outcome for the child who has to deal with the lifelong disability. and there's no material difference between miscarriage and abortion, either, except that one is a conscious choice. fundamentally, what people are uncomfortable with is women defying what they see as divine authority by exerting her own will over creation. but she's the only god in this scenario, because nobody's getting created without her.
kind of crazy that the sun is the closest thing we have to an unholy seething vortex of magical energy, a pulsating orb that is periodically ripped by screaming flares that lash us with incredible ferocity from a hundred million miles away, and we're like mmm what a nice day! 😊
one of my favorite Sun Facts is that if sound could be transmitted through the vacuum of space the intensity of sound power emitted from the sun that reached the earth would be roughly as intense a noise as a jet airplane taking off a couple hundred meters away. The Sun is really loud!

This is literally pro-life rhetoric. You are anti-choice.
This is one of those spots where I'm not sure you can say anything and win. Because:
On one hand, selecting for disability and disorder absolutely is eugenics and should not be encouraged.
On the other hand, we already select for some disabilities and disorders in order to protect the kids who would have them! Tay-Sachs is the obvious example; we do not want these children to die horribly so we try to make sure they're not conceived in the first place.
On the other hand, a potential parent selecting for disability is concerning because not all disabilities show up in the womb, and some are acquired. Do we want to encourage people to become parents if they're already wanting to walk away from any difficulty?
On the other hand, there are disabilities and there are disabilities. What if a potential parent is like "listen, ADHD I can handle, but the disability you're talking about is so severe I don't think I could handle it"? Is that eugenics, or recognizing one's own limits?
On the other hand, if we could ask the fetus "here's what you'll deal with; do you want to live?" would it say yes or no? Some quadriplegics love living. Some amputees who lost part of a leg will say they wish they'd died instead. Every disabled person will have a different answer, including two who have near-identical disabilities and life circumstances. Hell, I'm disabled and whether I'm saying "it doesn't bother me" or "I wish I was anyone else" comes down to the day.
On the other hand, does it make a difference if the answer to "why do you want an abortion" is "I don't want a baby" or "I don't want a baby I perceive as defective"? Do we judge one but not the other? Why?
I could go on like this for hours. I don't think OP is right and I also don't think they're wrong. I'm not sure there is a "right" answer. I definitely don't think there's a one-size-fits-all answer. Life is THE most annoying bitch on earth that way sometimes. And insofar as there is an answer, I actually think it lies with creating support, not restricting abortion. Would you still say "abort" if you had an extra $10k a year? What about someone to watch the kiddo on Saturdays so you could have some decompression time? Is there a load-bearing straw we can remove to spare the camel's back, or is the camel simply not capable of hauling this particular shipment of straw?
Sometimes there are no good answers.
Women are allowed to abort for literally any reason. There is literally no scenario where anyone should force a woman to carry a fetus to term if she doesn't want it. That's the correct answer.
Also, eugenics is definitionally a population-level thing. An individual woman can not do eugenics.
