Mu Yuan has been in Luo Binghe's presence for like, twenty minutes and he's discovered that he sucks.
He hadn't had particularly lofty opinions of the Demon Emperor anyway, but coming home from foraging in the woods around the secluded cottage where his parents had finally settled to find Luo Binghe sitting at their tiny kitchen table across from his parents who appear to be actually having panic attacks isn't the best first impression.
There's genuine menace in the pleasant smile Luo Binghe turns on him, but Mu Yuan says "I'll make tea," and goes to do just that before anyone can issue any threats.
The table is in the kitchen so he gets to feel Luo Binghe's eyes on his back as he gets everything ready.
He makes the calming herbal tea his parents drink for their anxiety, and that he drinks because he's been drinking it since he was a toddler. When it's ready he pours Luo Binghe the first cup because it's polite and then serves his parents and himself before sitting down beside Baba. Diedie 's on his other side and he wishes their seats were swapped. As it is now Diedie 's bad arm and eye are closest to Luo Binghe. He knows Diedie would feel better if he at least had his good side facing the man who gave him a bad side.
Baba's hands are shaking as he drinks his tea, but when he sets the cup down his voice is steady as he asks Luo Binghe what he's doing here.
Luo Binghe explains, about the rare poison that some idiot assassin managed to hit one of his wives with instead of Luo Binghe.
It's Liu Mingyan, Luo Binghe mentions casually, killing any hope his parents might just refuse to get involved. They always speak so fondly of Liu Qingge, the last Bai Zhan Peak Lord, they're hardly going to let his little sister die.
When he finishes speaking Baba tells him exactly where the one plant that can act as an antidote is, but the answer is clearly not what he wants to hear.
"Do you think I'm an idiot?" Luo Binghe hisses, standing up and clenching his fists. "The only thing that will cure her just happens to be in the Endless Abyss? Could you be trying to lead me to my death any more transparently?"
Baba has calmed remarkably, or he's full disassociating. He stands up too, "There is no other treatment that will work, do you think I like the idea of that poor girl wasting away in agony? What are you doing for her now? Did you come out here without even getting her something for the pain?"
"Of course you think me so monsterous-"
"I only think that you will act as you always have."
Luo Binghe took a step towards Baba- Diedie sprang up and put himself between them. The tension in the room spiking-
"I'll go with him," Mu Yuan said.
Every head in the room snapped to him.
He stood and carefully began collecting teacups. "It's the best way to make everyone happy right? Baba and Diedie can watch over the patient and I go with Luo Binghe so he's assured this isn't any kind of double cross," he explained his reasoning, carefully omitting that Diedie couldn't have gone even if he wanted to in his condition.
He puts the dishes in to soak and turns around only to immediately get hugged by both parents. Baba is shaking and clings to him, murmuring 'no no no' under his breath. Diedie is just squeezing the both of them tight, he's far paler than usual.
"...Fine." Luo Binghe says. When Mu Yuan looks up the Demon Emperor is staring straight at him. "The three of you get ready, I'll be outside."
He leaves.
Mu Yuan can't decide if that's out of kindness, letting his parents weep in relative privacy, or if he's just too impatient to deal with them all anymore.
WQW and MQF designs
Today is the day they finally reunite, happy Qixi Festival!
May I ask to see domestic weifang?
Peaceful late nights~ Thanks for the rq!
[ID: A Scum Villain Doodle. Wei Qingwei and Mu Qingfang are dressed in sleeping robes with their hair down. WQW smiles brightly with a hand wrapped around MQF's waist. MQF leans onto WQW's shoulder with a small smile as he holds a cup of tea. End ID]
hi hello, do you have any thoughts about mu qingfang x qi qingqi?
I kept trying to find the post but it must be too far back. I have previously said how QQQ and MQF have fucked a few times for medical purposes, and QQQ always thought she would hate it but MQF is weirdly attractive to her???? And then MQF transitions a few years later and she knows. Thank god for MQF and WQW’s marriage being open because she will gladly scoot in there.
I think with how QQQ seems to value social status (as seen in her looking down on the WRP jies) she would feel more comfortable having sex with a fellow peak lord, especially bottoming for a fellow peak lord. MQF is extremely experienced and she can just trust her to make it really good when they fuck.
I don’t see any long term romantic relationships between them, QQQ just isn’t chill like that, but they definitely have a fwb thing.
Y'know how Wei Qingwei canonically makes jokes and everyone just kind of stares at him because no one really gets his sense of humor?
I think Mu Qingfang is the only one who does laugh, and it made Wei Qingwei fall for him hard. He looked up one day and saw his shidi with his hand over his mouth, laughing so softly, his eyes sparkling just a bit, and just felt his heart start to pound a little faster.
Some of the other Peak Lords will scold Mu Qingfang not to encourage Wei Qingwei, but by then it's too late.
The problem is Wei Qingwei tries to flirt through more jokes, and all of this goes entirely over his cute shidi's head. Mu Qingfang just chuckles like always and moves on, completely none the wiser.
the fanfic server i’m in had a drabble night, so i wanted to share one i wrote on here :3

Wan Jian Peak’s pride was its sword caves, wherein the blades forged on the mountains cultivated their spiritual consciousness. Some formed new spirits; others were chosen by those who had been known to join with great cultivators each generation.
The sword caves were also, in Wei Qingwei’s humble opinion, terribly romantic at sunset. “Come darling,” he murmured, false charm laid thick in his voice, “and let your Wei-ge feed you fruits and wine. Let me court you.”
Gracelessly, Mu Qingfang snorted at his antics. “What courting? Wei-ge has been my husband for fifteen years.”
“Let me court you still, a-Fang.”
