In Mako Mermaid, throughout the show the plot revolves mainly around trying to rid Zac of his tail in order to bring the pod back to Mako Island. Ondina, Mimi and Sirena leave the pod with the promise to bring them back to Mako because the pod and where it belongs is one of the most important parts of being a mermaid. The very thought of not being part of the pod is said and shown time and time again to be an awful, heart breaking experience. When Weilan arrives in the last season she is podless do to a water dragon which in a cruel moment Ondina says that a real mermaid isn’t podless, but this is said because Ondina believes Weilan is a threat to her pod. Later on she apologizes and says Weilan is part of her pod, when Weilan says she’s going to rebuild the eastern pod Ondina offers to help her, to be by her side, in this essay I will-
