I realize this is a cast iron gate but I’m choosing to believe it’s a magic protection ritual
It IS a magic protection ritual, and it summons an iron gate to protect you from intruders.
“I cast Iron Gate!”
"You should create for yourself" and "it's okay to feel discouraged when creating your own original projects if no one interacts with them" are two sentences that should be able to co-exist with each other
On the one hand, you should kill that capitalist in your head that tells you to make art only for the enjoyment of other people. On the other hand, it's totally fine to be disappointed that you spent hours or even days on something that only got 4 notes. You can feel both ways.
I am tired of defensiveness and weird, mixed signals. Let's just get to the truth here, okay?
Buffy and Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997 - 2003).
Hey um. I just saw you reblogged a post about this... you may want to know about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos. The company was basically a big scam and there was no real science. It was a grift. There's plenty of other women's science successes to celebrate but you may wanna look that one in particular up ...
woag..........
Just because she failed completely, publicly humiliated herself, scammed rich people, and potentially killed innocent people, all in a completely preventable way, does NOT mean we can't celebrate her. #nevergiveup

Being an adult will have you unironically sad about a parasite outbreak in fresh vegetables.
If my father passes away, please remember that I begged you for a small donation or to share his post. I will not forgive anyone who sees this post and doesn't support it with a single word or a small donation, and simply ignores it.
I write this letter trembling with fear for my father. He has been suffering excruciating pain from cancer, and I cannot afford all the medications he needs due to their high cost. All I wish is for him to stop suffering every day, so I implore you to stand by him and help him purchase his medications as soon as possible.
Please donate.
Worse still, his health has deteriorated sharply, and he has great difficulty moving. The pain and weakness have rendered him unable to lead a normal life. He urgently needs medical attention and ongoing treatment to improve his condition, but the cost of treatment is prohibitively expensive for us. Currently, he cannot sleep comfortably due to the constant pain, and he cannot afford the medications and painkillers that might alleviate his suffering because of their high prices.
He needs your help to alleviate his pain and save him as quickly as possible. Please, he doesn't want to die. Help us raise the necessary funds for his treatment and surgery as soon as possible Stand by him. Please donate.

for those unaware today india experienced one of its biggest protests in half a decade. there were protests all over the nation for various causes but the major one was in delhi. all we asked for was the resignation of the education minister because he's failed the students of this nation time & time again. but we were met with brutality, the police had barricaded the main site of protest (jantar mantar). metro stations were shutdown, the public was restrained from reaching the protest site and all the adjoining areas had signal jammers to make sure the crowd had no access to constant updates. they had us blocked from all the sides. they were lathi (baton) charging students from one side & releasing tear gas from the other. you couldn't walk 100 m on streets without having a tear gas shell thrown at you. there were many students, women & kids bleeding — some from their head. some couldn't walk anymore. the police had removed their nameplates, covered their faces & acted with full impunity to resort to unprecedented levels of violence. they were pelting stones at us, beating up people for no reason, forcefully detaining them and attacking us constantly with tear gas & rubber bullets. they wouldn't let you exit either. the crowd was peaceful & looking out for each other yet they were met with violence. i made a friend who was all alone & she asked to join me & my friend because a policeman wouldn't leave her alone. he constantly prodded her for personal info, invited her back to the jeep saying they have food there, wouldn't stop following her around. you couldn't call or ask anyone for help, we were left to fend for ourselves & be on a constant lookout if you did not want to be beaten up to death by police. all for what? asking a resignation? shame on this country.
Tattoo artist and I were debating over where to place my thigh tattoo. I, pants pulled down and half a buttcheek out in a large airy room in front of the windows said nervously “haha, I know I have a lot of thigh to work with” and they go “OMG yes I feel so bad for skinny clients because their art gets all crowded. You could get some nice big pieces on your arms and legs though”. Hell yeah my friend. Yet another W for the fat crowd tonight.

I actually think experiencing grief for someone still alive is worse when it’s a bad person who can’t face uglier flaws head on bcus of a belief that it’s earned the right to do what we it want regardless of others
the post that goes "tumblr loves to subvert something thats already subverted and just end up with the thing again" is sadly what is being done on here among progressives about rape culture
@stalinistqueens had a great explanation of the context in the comments, which i've copied here:
i suggest forcefem/suggestrogen and a bunch of people in her circle have been circulating for a while that pedophiles are an oppressed minority and comparing not including them in the lgbt+ community to the “drop the t” movement, as well as platforming people like pokeballvictimized (whose new url idk) who basically make a lot of very long posts about why hating rapists and wanting them to die makes you a bad person and rapists are our beloved friends and family and don’t deserve to be exiled and have their futures ruined for this tiny mistake, much like the amish and brock turner’s dad would say. lately isff has also been posting apologist stuff for sophie mcallister, an author who admitted she had assaulted several other trans women, but claimed it was just bad kink practices on her part. there’s also tara knight of the fake fbi letter fame (and several other women’s) whole petition against to never accuse another trans woman of assault publicly, based on a growing sentiment that even if you are ever sexually assaulted by a transfeminine person that you shouldn’t say anything to anyone because of the social consequences and potential harm to her future/career, and a lot of the usual “well trans women are often accused of assault falsely so we can dismiss all accusations against them as motivated by transmisogyny” sentiment, even though the victims in many of these situations are other transfeminine people. it’s just a small group of horrible people who are very adept at using social justice based and leftist terminology to repackage rape culture and abuse apologism that are really popular right now. (if you remember from ages ago, they heavily overlap with the “imane khelif did not experience transmisogyny because she is tme and can just show her birth certificate and be fine” group.)
living under a rock is so fun i love watching a movie that’s been famous for decades and being like wow this is so good.. did you guys know about this
