Me: *pops my head out of my room* hey, do you want to go get doughnuts?
Dad: eh... not really.
Me: okay, wait. Let me rephrase that. Do you want *me* to go get doughnuts? Cuz I want doughnuts
Dad: mm... where are you getting doughnuts at?
Me: *says the name of the supermarket in the next town over*
Dad: ... you’re going to go to the next town over, just to get doughnuts?
Me: uh, yeah! *supermarket* has the best doughnuts around!
Dad: ... okay, cool. Grab the five in my wallet and have fun. Be home before dark.
Me: yes!!! *grabs the money, my shoes, and my keys and runs out the door to get doughnuts.
