Y’all get this weirdly optimistic statement I just said to my cat at near 2 in the morning.

Kinda just stared at my cat like “wtf did I just say???”
He’s completely unbothered and unchanged by my optimism. Because he’s still mad that I did shove him off my lap.

Is there a word to describe that you are actually ok with a personal disappointment because you were expecting it for a while, so you were mentally prepared, and with this predicted outcome you are hopeful of the future, but also a little sad because you’ll still miss that person and what could have been?

Ambitious Post
Ughhhh I'm finally a senior! Kind of!
I cannot WAIT to start applying to colleges and leaving. I've seriously wanted to go to college since middle school. It's really exciting to know that in less than six months I'll know whether or not I'm going to an Ivy League school. I'll also be turning eighteen which is really exciting because I can buy all the cigarettes and lotto tickets I want. I intend to make my lungs black and my pockets green, y'all.
It's exciting to know that this time next year I'll be getting ready to leave the nest and start college as a semi-adult.
Also, my parents are (hopefully) taking me to Paris as a graduation gift. This is especially exciting because I've been studying French since I was in sixth grade, so it'll be great to use.
Agh this is going to be the best year of my life so far! Reveling in my youth, y'all. Teen TV shows and movies from the 90's are coming true.
