Bending With The Wind by The Sprigs

Knight of swords.
I find that one of the biggest battles I have with myself is finishing. Many a times i have begun a thing and failed to follow through. Excuses come in many forms, and none are satisfactory. In the book The War of Art Stephen Pressfield addresses the battle we face as creators and says “The most important thing about art is to work. Nothing else matters except sitting down every day and trying.” The Knight of Swords in tarot often represents clear thinking and intellectual power. This song and this post have been waiting for about three weeks. My own inner battle for just this has kept me from taking the time to sit down and finish the post. More to come as I refocus and manage my time to allow for these posts, and of course more songwriting.
The Fool,
Spontaneous and rambunctious, with the open hearted energy of a child. Sometimes you just need to laugh and enjoy life.. Check that, not sometimes, all the time. Enjoy each moment for what it is, even if it isn't what you think.

2 of disks - Change
The card is called harmonious change, it stands for the alternation and natural balance of gain and loss, weakness and strength, growing and fading, ever varying occupation and wandering. In nature, everything is in constant change, well balanced with and in each other, building the principle of natural growing and proceeding.

Swords 8,2, and 3
Too often in my life have I gotten distracted from a project and failed to bring it to completion. Somewhere a lack of focus arises and it lay dying. I drew 3 cards today, the 8,2, and 3 of swords. The 8 often represents a lack of persistence and outside interference. The 2, is Energy beyond the onslaught of distraction. Intellect restrained by love. The 3 is confusion emancipated without a guiding principle. How fitting. Sometimes I feel like there are to many things I want to do and end up doing none. Keeping a clear mind and scheduling my time to focus on certain projects is one way I'm beginning to get beyond the sabotage of distraction. This way I can see each thing through regardless of the results. "Better a bad novel, screenplay, or song than an unwritten one"

Competition Vs. Cooperation
We've been told over and over that competition is good, healthy for society, and that it is our natural way. Yet it results in deception, thievery, murder, and war. It's time we challenge this false theory that has led to so much destruction, so much dysfunction. The Tree of life is the hidden connectivity we all share, it is the deep, within. When we view life from the lens of the Tree of Life cooperation is the only way. There is no more ego. There is only everything and your being a part of all of it.
