Welcome to the Library

A note has been pinned at the entrance of the library. Gielsing lifts an eyelid as you walk to it. This is the most he’s acknowledged your presence in weeks. The note explains this good mood:

“The magical connection has been reestablished! I’ll be able to keep updates coming, even while I work on moving. Psychic connections will be established once I’m settled and I’ll be able to assist you in your searches.

Welcome To The Library

In the vast stone library you wander. The fierce Gielsing sits, moping, at his spot near the entrance. He does not move, has not moved, since the librarian went away. It seems a new depth has come to his moping as of late. As you enter the gallery, you discover why. The last new photo is dated August 31, 2016. In the nest display is a scrawled note:

“I apologize for the absence! My relocation took on a new urgency that’s left psychic and magical resonance weak. We will have them reestablished by October.

Welcome To The Library

You’ve been camping in a room filled with cookbooks, next to the chamber housing the greenhouse where you’ve found most of your food since you discovered you were locked inside the library. Dragon and librarian have been nowhere to be found.

Now, overhead, you hear the sound of great wings beating. You race towards the doorway, hoping you’ll finally be able to start the long journey home. Sure enough, the doors are opening to the sight of the great, red dragon. His eyes narrow when he sees you.

“Why were you in my library?” He demands. You squeak out an explanation. The dragon sighs, rests his temple against the cool stone walls. “Yes, we did leave in quite a hurry. The librarian is moving you see, and we’ve been...Oh! Yes, sorry, you must be in a hurry to leave. Go along then.”

The Fierce Gielsing steps aside, more pensive than you expected. As you hurry through the great wooden doors at the end of the stairway, you catch a glimpse of a note that has been posted:

“Due to the unexpected relocation of our librarian, several of our halls our closed for service until her psychic link has been reestablished. The most noted change is the grand opening of the Review Hall, expected to open in early December.”

This should be fun

So, because I’ve been banging my head on writer’s block for a while, I decided a blog would be a good idea. Blogs are undefined. They’re a space for any and all writing. I could rant about things and be opinionated about issues, I could brainstorm story ideas and sketch out flash fics, I could do anything, so long as I’m writing.

I have this feeling that it’s going to be more difficult than that. 

Because see, blogs are only undefined at the very beginning. From the first post, you start giving your followers (all zero of them... but the principle is the same) an idea of what to expect. Will this blog be about the trials and tribulations of a job-seeking wanna-be writer? Will there actually be any creative content? (Hopefully yes.) Will it be witty and cheerful, or pessimistic and grouchy? (That might depend on the day.) Blogs are like people, like slates: once you start writing, they’re never really clean again. 

So, really, I don’t know what we should expect from this blog. I know that I’ve already had an idea for a series of shorts that can go on here, but we’ll see how many of them make it. Writer’s block, remember? I’m already stuck on names...

So keep your fingers crossed and tune back soon. There may just be more to read.
