Pierce and Lucifer call themselves Mark and Luke during the undercover mission because they're close enough to their names, but Luke and Mark are also two of the Four Evangelists! If you go past this first relgious reference, Luke is the patron Saint of artists, physicians, bachelors, surgeons, students and butchers (a few of these make me think of Lucifer sorta?) and is symbolized by a winged bull/ox, a figure of sacrifice, service and strength (again, very relevant for Lucifer). While Mark is the patron Saint of attorneys, barristers, Venice, Italy, and Egypt (Pierce literally killed Charlotte, an attorney, as one of the big "Oh Fuck!" moments of the season) and is symbolized by a winged lion, representing Jesus' resurrection and Christ as King (I mean... resurrection).
Marcus and Mark are also both callbacks to Pierce's own cursed Mark (Pierce too, if you consider his skin was pierced to apply the mark/scar lol). And also the name Marcus either refers to the God Mars (appropriate as he sort of wages war against Lucifer after their fallout) or derives from a word meaning "to harvest", which is also appropriate since he's actually Cain, who used to be a farmer and, biblically at least, was also cursed with being unable to actually grow anything anymore (dunno about that part of the curse in the Lucifer show canon, as the Bible is shown to have some dashes of truth with a lot of things either warped or made up, so that part could be false for them. But Abel made references to sheep-keeping, so the part about Cain being a farmer is probably also true. They even got a guy who played a farmer for a decade to play him lmao).
