But why? Neither one is correct, the government has never had the people's interests at heart, not for many many years. "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it", yet everyone magically forgets all the horrible things BOTH sides of the government have done, to millions of innocent people. This is a country of immigrants, homeless, and bottom class, ruled over by a few rich "elites" who think their money puts them above reproach. We need to stop this attitude of "oh I have money I can get away with anything" and start punishing these fools. Most of what our gracious leaders in politics have condoned would have at one point or another been considered crims against humanity, and putting one's wealth before the well-being of millions is pathetic. The richest people in the country own more money than the country's entire debt is worth, but they won't do anything to fix it, they'd rather live in their ivory palaces while the rest of us are forced to live in squalor because the country can't afford to take care of tens of millions of citizens when it spends all it's money on war and the top 1%.
