Olympiade) and commonly known as Munich 1972 (German: München 1972), was an international multi-sport event held in Munich, Bavaria, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972.The event was overshadowed by the Munich massacre in the second week, in which eleven Israeli athletes and coaches and a West German police officer at Olympic village were killed by Palestinian Black September terrorists.The 1972 Summer Olympics were the second Summer Olympics to be held in Germany, after the 1936 Games in Berlin, which had taken place under the Nazi regime. The West German Government had been eager to have the Munich Olympics present a democratic and optimistic Germany to the world, as shown by the Games' official motto, "Die Heiteren Spiele", or "the cheerful Games". The logo of the Games was a blue solar logo (the "Bright Sun") by Otl Aicher, the designer and director of the visual conception commission. The hostesses wore sky-blue dirndls as a promotion of Bavarian cultural heritage. The Olympic mascot, the dachshund "Waldi", was the first officially named Olympic mascot. The Munich Agreement of September 30, 1938 stipulated the annexation of the Czechoslovakia by the German Reich. 🕊💙💛🇺🇦🕊🇩🇪🥨🍻 Greetings from Munich, Germany and have a nice day all. ~~~~ The Munich Agreement (official name: Agreement between Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Italy, made in Munich on September 29, 1938) was signed on the night of September 29-30, 1938 by the heads of government Adolf Hitler, Neville Chamberlain, Édouard Daladier and Benito Mussolini signed in the Führerbau in Munich. Czechoslovakia and its ally Soviet Union were not invited to the conference. The agreement stipulated that Czechoslovakia had to cede the Sudetenland to the German Reich and had to vacate it within ten days. The invasion of the Wehrmacht began on October 1, 1938. An international committee was to determine the future borders and monitor plebiscites in other areas. Something similar was planned for the Polish and Hungarian minorities in Czechoslovakia. As a result of the agreement, Poland occupied the Teschen area on October 2, 1938. Torture and executions with the Iron Maiden. There is a horribly romantic folk tale attached to this Jungfernturm in Munich ❤ Germany 😊😱📸🙏🥨🍻 Greetings and have a wonderful day all. ~~~~ The Jungfernturm was part of Munich's city fortifications. The late Gothic remains of the tower with the raw brick wall facing the city and the former inner city wall in Jungfernturmstrasse are listed as a monument in the Bavarian list of monuments. Death sentences are said to have been passed in the Jungfernturm. According to legend, there was a statue of the Virgin Mary there, which the condemned man had to kiss, after which a hatch opened under him and he fell down into a dungeon. Jungfernturm - it probably got his name from torture and executions with the Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden - torture device The Iron Maiden is a device said to have been used to torture and execute people.
