I'm so excited to finally announce the HUGE news that myself and a team of incredibly skilled professional artists, animators and musicians have been awarded the 'Experiment £20k' grant funding from Immersive Arts!
Our project 'The Afanc: An Immersive Folklore Experience’ is an experimental immersive art project exploring how a mythological creature from Cymru folklore can become a responsive, living presence shaped by audience interaction.
It is deeply important to us that this project be a celebration of human-made art, reflecting our collective passion for all things Welsh culture and folklore.
As a group we intend to research and test how illustration, animation, and responsive systems can combine to create culturally grounded immersive experiences.
We are so excited to share the creation of this story with you! I will make sure to keep everyone posted as the project develops.
You can find out more about the project and the amazing team involved on the Immersive Arts Website: https://immersivearts.uk/projects/the-afanc/
'Immersive Arts is an ambitious three-year programme that takes place across the UK, using an artist-led approach to working with immersive technologies.
