That old man flustered by their partners transition(2)
Part 1 is here :V
Still gender neutral yaaay.
------
Jing Yuan and many of the Xianzhou Alliance have their own ways of dealing with their bodies and gender expression. He doesn't find it odd for his partner to decide to transition just sees the differences and similarities their cultures have when it comes to such things.
Their transformation is done in a blink to one as long lived as himself though that doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate it. It's like watching a flower bloom, a butterfly pass by, or a firework in the night sky: awe inspiring and ephemeral. Their "unflattering" weight gain or odd freckles and stripes are wonderful and he finds himself loving how their stance changes as they walk into a room knowing exactly who they are.
"Am I just a pillow to you?." His partner asks while he hums content nuzzling their thighs as they read. "Nonsense you're not just a pillow."
He yawns and he does not have to look up to know they're rolling their eyes already. They yelp with the soft nip at their thigh. "You're my favorite pillow."
------
Blade's life moves either too slow or too fast but he notices his partner's transition and has little to comment about it. They're free to do as they please with themselves though he is always curious when the next time he sees them after long periods apart how much they've changed.
His eyes trail the way they're dressed and how it suits them and where their skin peeks at their chest catch his interest.
"You're staring."
"You've...changed." His partner tilts their head with a raised brow crossing their arms his eyes jumping to the way their altered chest moves with the action. They smile teasingly when they notice his distraction. "I have."
"Like what you see?" He pauses before looking away with a scowl refusing to answer and he doesn't have to the light blush on his cheeks says everything he won't.
------
Welt doesn't mind his partners transition because their body is theirs to do as they please and while he's concerned about medications and medical procedures he trusts his partner knows what they're doing for their own happiness. He's proud that they chose themselves as now the person he loves once hidden behind their nervous habits shines brighter than any star now. Though he's watched their body change for so long now he can't help but feel a bit flushed when he sees them dressing down.
"Something the matter?"
His partner asks over their shoulder as they get ready for bed and his face feels so warm. He clears his throat before pressing a kiss on their temple pulling back with a soft smile.
That old man reacting to their partner asking for a divorce just for the excuse to get married to him again
A/N: more goofy things because I'm trying to keep my sanity while I figure out the Mr. Pants work progress is decent and I do not want to eat my keyboard nope not at all :V
------
Varka feels his gut dropping at the moment his partner asks for a divorce and wonders just what he did or if they simply stopped loving him. Regardless of the reason he'd love to work through it with them and accept their decision and part amicably. Of course as he's mentioning this to them they look at him confused before blurting out that they just want to marry him again and they can't do that if they're still married. The relief he feels practically sends his towering form to his knees. Immediately brings them into his arms smothering them with affection. Begs them to be gentle to his old heart and not to ask him that again unless they actually mean it which may or may not pray later for them not to. Still doesn't want to get a divorce just to get married again but is down for renewing vows or getting married in another nation.
------
Flins initially feels a deep sadness and anger at the words but takes one look at how excited his partner is and is more curious than anything else. Would question them about it before reminding them that marriage with a fae isn't something so easily broken. His partner reassures him and he can't help how happy he feels knowing they simply wish to marry him again even if it means divorcing first. Part of him wants to do so because of how novel it is and because it simply means that they love him so much they simply must marry him again. Another more greedy part doesn't want to divorce at all because they're finally his and he is theirs and it should stay that way until death even then. Suggests they simply get married in another nation close by or renewing their vows. He manages to wiggle his way out of an actual divorce and they find a new ring on each of their fingers for every time they remarried.
------
Zhongli understands that divorce is sometimes unavoidable in a marriage though it still leaves a foul taste in his mouth at the idea of a broken contract sometimes the contract must be broken for the best interests of all parties involved. Divorce coming from his own partner though is something he never saw as a possibility in the slightest. He takes pride in caring for his partner and them in caring for him so he believes that if they are unhappy enough to wish for a divorce something must have been left unsaid or undone. Takes it seriously asking about what's made them unhappy, what the two of them can do to have a better understanding of the situation and etc. It isn't until his partner interrupts that they simply wanted to marry him again and they couldn't do that if they stayed married that he realizes that isn't such a bad idea. Sure he doesn't like the idea of divorcing but if it's to remarry the love of his life why wouldn't he want that? They talk it over for a while and settle on faux divorcing where they play the parts of having a divorce without the actual legal repercussions and in renewing their vows every ten plus or so years on their anniversary.
------
Neuvillette is heartbroken and he's so distraught he almost doesn't hear his love mention the reason why they wish for a divorce in the first place. The relief he feels is immediate though he does scold his partner for bringing it up if they truly did not wish for a divorce to separate. He is curious about how they came up with the idea in the first placw and is touched that they love him so much they needed to marry him again and again. It makes his heart overflow with affection. Though he doesn't bring out the divorce documents as the meer idea of touching them for any reason regarding his partner makes his gut sink. His partner seeing his hesitation at the idea offers to instead have small ceeremonies on their anniversary instead. The melusines are more than happy to help set it up and celebrate their favorite people's love over and over again.
------
Jing Yuan is more than aware of his partners idea simply because of their sleepy ramblings the night before. That night he felt a flicker of sadness but it washed away when his partner happily stated they want to be courted by him again and remarry over and over again. He's not against the idea but the paperwork is a headache he and his partner both do not wish upon themselves so they decide to marry in different locations that hold fond memories of when they were first dating. By the end if it all his partner is definitely decorated in all sorts of accesories representing their dates and marriages.
------
Welt is surprised but listens to his partner before jumping to conclusions as they did blurt it out in the main cabin. Of course everyone is shocked by the words 'divorce' in the first place and even March and the Trailblazer try to patch up the marriage before they clear up the confusion with their reasoning. The shriek of excitement hurts his head but he feels warmth fill his heart and of course his face. He's blushing like mad and feels so much younger at the idea it's a little complicated to do as their place of origin is hard to access so they settle for having a celebration on the Astral Express where PomPom can witness a wedding for the first time.
------
Blade was difficult to get into a relationship with in the first place let alone marry so why would they want to get rid of all that hardwork with a divorce? He's upset at first but when they explain why he's just done with their nonsense but this is who he married in the first place so of course this is the sort of thing he signed up for. It'll be difficult to get married officially anyways as with their criminal lifestyles they couldn't have a trail especially a legal one that could get them both put in jail. He's fine with having another ceremony other than their original one under different aliases on different planets if they're able with their busy lives. Even if it's not shown clearly he's pretty happy that they'd chose him over and over again
How that old man reacts to their love being loopy from their medication.
Neuvillette is concerned of course that they must take such a powerful medication in the first place but understands it's necessary for their well being and health. Fortunately for him his office is relatively peaceful with scheduled disturbances so they can come to work with him and rest at the side while he works. He'll chat with them if they start talking about this and that and monitor their condition but overall he's a bit confused. Just what exactly did they mean when they said there's a giant otter in the room?
------
Zhongli understands the importance of the powerful medication and carefully reads the side effects and symptoms of the drug. He's amused when they talk about this and that rambling about one crazy thing after another and participates in their heated debate that clearly it's unjust for restaurants to only give such small portions of sauce for their favorite dish. His office is mostly peaceful but he doesn't bring them with him if only to prevent his boss from freaking them out while his partner is heavily medicated.
------
Flins does worry about their health considering their difference in tolerance for any sort of drug but what needs to be done should be done to ensure their well being. Asks his partner how they're feeling and what they're seeing in their drugged state and talks to them to keep them grounded if they feel frightened by the drugs affect on them. If they're fine with the lighthouse he doesn't mind having them stay there with him resting beside him while he fills out his reports. The ghosts won't disturb them while they're so out of it and the darkness as a whole will reduce their chances of becoming overstimulated and nauseous though he does have to make sure they don't try to stray away from his side if they feel a energized and ready to run. Wouldn't do to have them trip or fall into the ocean would it?
------
Varka takes his partners health seriously so as much as he doesn't want to read he'll read the medication packet and remember all the important parts such as the symptoms and negative effects. His partner will stay with him while he begrudgingly does his paperwork so he can keep them safe while they're so vulnerable. If his partner starts babbling about this or that he'll join in wholeheartedly anything to entertain them and himself while he works. He's deeply invested in their theories that Teyvat is upside-down even if it's far-fetched but anything is possible. He'll definitely bring up their conversations later when the drug has worn off and they're more lucid asking for clearer explanations on things or telling them his thoughts on their last drugged up conversation.
------
Jing Yuan absolutely uses his partners prescribed heavy medication as a way to at least get out of his work for a bit. If he cannot he'll bring them with him to a room nearby where they will be safe and sound as they're dealing with their medication. Will talk them through their drugged state whilehe works whether in person or through the phone. He finds the strange conversations they have to be the highlight of his day every day but something about the unfiltered nature of the conversations while his partner is drugged is even better. It's like peeking into the chaos of their mind and all the things they hold back until sleep deprived or after drinking. It's frankly hilarious how they think he's clearly spawning all the sparrows that live in the Luofu and that he must be a bird or at least a portal to the sparrow dimension. Will bring it up when they're back to normal and ask their thought process on such crazy thoughts.
------
Welt understands the necessity of the medication and keeps himself well informed. Doesn't matter if he must stay with them at the doctor's office or if they're safe to rest on the astral express either way he's close by to keep them safe and comfortable. Turns off lights, talks with them, brings them snacks anything they need while they're so out of it. Will read/talk to them while they ride out the medication or just keep quiet if that's what they'd like. He is a little concerned when they ramble on about beings that sound a bit too familiar from his life before the astral express.
------
Blade watches over his partner as he always does: silent but ever present. He's not exactly the best person to watch over someone while they aren't entirely lucid as he's often not lucid himself but he does his best. Rests with them in a shared room so that he can help them if they need it but otherwise leaves them be. He'll talk if they need/want him to but he's mostly sitting or standing there watching them rest. He doesn't understand their odd ramblings especially how they believe that the catcakes will one day take over the universe but he listens regardless of how insane the ideas are.
Dancing Through The Stars - Connect the Dots - Welt Yang - Paso Doble
Author Notes: Welt doing the paso doble felt like both a good fit and a weird one. He rather oddly intense, all things considered, but also very chill. So balancing that felt kind of awkward. The performance in this fic was inspired by Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell’s Paso Doble to “Run Boy Run” by Woodkid on Strictly Come Dancing season 2. Just like the rest of this series, reader is female. I hope you enjoy!

You had honestly almost laughed when Himeko had suggested you dance a paso doble with Welt for the distraction at the party. Because while the paso doble was a very showy dance, it also wasn’t the first dance that came to mind when you considered Welt Yang, of all people.
Especially considering his perpetual use of a walking stick….
And yet here you were, after what seemed like ridiculous amounts of encouragement from March, getting ready to dance the paso doble with Welt solely to provide a distraction while the others went about their business.
And, as ever, while Welt had been somewhat caught off guard by the suggestion, he was as put together as possible while he stood next to you. Calmly cleaning his glasses, though you did catch the slight sigh that slipped out of him.
But then, it seemed like Welt was always getting pulled into some form of shenanigans. It was just that this time it involved dancing with you in front of a large number of people.
You glanced his way, quietly watching him as you fidgeted with your detachable skirt that Himeko had gotten for you with a sly wink. But then Welt was an odd man.
At times, he seemed completely normal, if a little tired, and often you felt like you knew him well. He was, in many ways, a paternal figure to some of the other members of the Express, like Sunday, and he had a knack for art that you’d discovered while harassing him one day.
And in moments like those, he seemed perfectly ordinary. Easy to get along with, generally laid back, and reliable, though perhaps in not such a dramatic way as some others.
But then there were other times where Welt would catch you off-guard, and that was when you would realize exactly how enigmatic he really was. Because, frankly speaking, no ordinary man should be capable of things that Welt was.
You weren’t going to ask though. After all, there were certain things you didn't bring up, and you had always gotten the feeling that something unpleasant had happened to Welt in that past, even if he didn’t necessarily let on that was the case.
As if sensing your idle, drifting thoughts, he glanced your way. His eyes studying you before he tilted his head and leaned ever so slightly closer, “Are you ready?”
His question came out surprisingly soft and had you blinking slightly before you nodded, smiling awkwardly as you gave a vague wave of your hand, “Oh, yeah. Sorry, I was just zoning out.”
The briefest of smiles flickered across his face as he straightened, giving a slight nod of his head before he looked back toward the dance floor and his smile dropped. Replaced by a frown that was paired with a tired sigh that almost had you smiling. But then, Welt was the long-suffering sort.
You linked your arm through his and leaned over, smiling at him as he glanced your way before you started forward with him beside you before you parted. Facing each other as the one song faded out and the room darkened.
A fact that had several other couples murmuring in confusion. But Himeko had promised that she’d see to it that you had everything you needed, including an appropriate song. Somehow you felt like the lighting change had more to do with March, or possibly Caelus, though.
You and Welt simply faced each other, waiting patiently until the beat hit, at which point you began clapping. Slapping your hands against your thighs, together, and around in varying circles as a spotlight hit the pair of you.
And as simply as that, you had everyone’s attention. With murmurs rippling through the crowd. You even heard one woman off to the side curiously mention that she hadn’t heard anything about any performances being put on this evening.
A chord from the piano rang out and you both stepped forward. Your arms spread so that your left one arched around Welt’s where he stood posed beside you.
He circled his arm, whipping you into a twirl that had your dark skirt flaring dramatically until you came to a stop beside him. Now facing the same direction as him as you gripped his extended arm that was held out in front of you like some form of barrier.
And then you started the dance in earnest, stepping to the side as you both swung one arm in a dramatic motion. Shifting from pose to pose in a way that carefully matched the relentless beat of the music that backed you.
But that was the nature of the paso doble. It was an innately dramatic dance that made use of powerful motions done to an almost march-like beat as the dancers wove a story, usually one of a matador in a bullfight.
Welt turned, his hand catching yours as his other pressed against your back. Putting the two of you into closed hold while your other hand rested against his shoulder as the two of you danced across stage, at first slowly and then with more speed.
And then, almost as quickly as you’d come together, you separated. Dancing as you faced one another with dramatic posed motions that mirrored one another.
You found yourself looking directly at him, almost blinking at the focused expression on his face that was at odds with the relaxed smile or tired frown you usually saw. It was an expression more reminiscent of the one he wore when scolding someone, but still more intense than that.
Your wrists crossed in between you as you both lifted your arms. Crossing them in front of you like you were blocking one another until his hand caught yours and spun you over so you were beside him once more.
And that was your cue. You reached down, walking around him with purposeful steps as you hurriedly detached your skirt and flipped it over to him. A move that had audible murmurs was again rising from the audience as he flipped it around like a cape.
But you’d all agreed. It was an easy distraction that extended your little impromptu performance and bought more time for the others. And, to top it off, it fit in nicely with the overall tone and theming of the paso doble.
You both spun across the stage, sliding past each other as you swung your arms dramatically. And when you turned to face Welt once more, he was no longer holding the fabric. Having tossed it to the side as he squared his shoulders and walked towards you. Striding across the dancefloor with the purpose that usually wasn’t found in the ballroom and seemed more suited for an opponent.
But when you met in the middle once more, you didn’t clash. Instead, you just re-entered closed hold and started across the floor at a rapid pace that matched the now flashing lights.
As you reached the other side you both spun in place, matching each other perfectly before snapping almost immediately back into hold and rotating before he leaned you back into a swift dip.
You were only lowered for a few seconds though before you were straightening and pivoting. Now dancing backwards before you slid into rotations that had you both leaning to the side as you raised and lowered your extended arms to the beat before parting. Facing one another and swinging your arms in dramatic circles as you stared each other down.
It was the part that you’d gotten tickled and started laughing at almost each time you’d practiced. But this time you kept a straight-face. Focusing on the performance rather than the rather ridiculous level of melodrama inherent to the motions.
You pivoted to the side, standing next to Welt once more as you both lowered your arms. And you glanced to the side, noting the signal Dan Heng was giving to let the two of you know they were done paired with March who was leaning around him to snap a quick picture of the two of you.
It almost had you rolling your eyes before you glanced over to see Welt meet your gaze before he gave a slight nod. Apparently having noticed the two of them as well.
He reached over, extending both hands for you to grab, and you spun. Exchanging places with him until you were just holding one of his hands.
You barely glanced his way for confirmation before you spun on your own. Twirling toward him before throwing yourself back at the last second and getting caught by his arm securely wrapped around your shoulders and holding you up as the final resounding beat of the music rang out.
Almost immediately applause rang out and you felt yourself let out the breath you’d been holding. Reaching up to grasp his shoulders as you straightened, feeling him pull you the rest of the way up before you spun out.
Meeting the audience with a bright smile, as if you really had just finished a performance and hadn’t been serving as a distraction at all.
You just hoped no one would connect the dots when this was all over with.
Some time ago I watched this yt video where a girl pranked her bf by flinching every time he tried to touch her or give smth to her 😭 I js think it’d be so funny w hsr men that are js confused on why you’re flinching??? They’re like “we’ve been together for 2 years?? Why are you flinching??” And would be js worried lmfao
The first HSR man that came to mind with this is Welt. Poor man would be so confused by your behavior. Even a simple act as bringing you morning coffee has you flinching. The older man worries you have a secret fear he doesn't know about.
"We fight alongside each other in battles all the time," you overhear him tell March 7th one quiet afternoon. "They never flinch then. So why is it whenever I give them things?" He gives a long sigh, rubbing his temples.
You feel so bad you hurry over there and explain the prank. Welt appreciates your honesty. Don't be fooled by his graciousness, though. He's more than capable of ranking you back.
Another HSR man who would be baffled by your behavior is Mydei. Heck, if he notices you flinch over and over again, he may say, "I don't have Death powers like Castorice. You have nothing to fear."
He'll get even more puzzled if he sees you easily accepting things from Phainon. The last straw would be Phainon bringing you food or anything that brings you comfort. Kind of the jealous type, Mydei might comment, "Oh, so Phainon's closer to you than I am."
You hear this and feel your heart sink. "Wait, Mydei, I'm just pranking you!" Gesturing for him to have a seat, you elaborate how this prank was supposed to go. "I'm sorry, babe."
Your boyfriend sighs and brings you in for a hug. "What a dumb prank. Really now! Let me spoil my Queen/King."

Welt is the type of husband to have a photo of u and joffrey on his desk at work and occasionally glances at it when he takes a break from his screen as a smile paints on his lips from time to time
When one of his co-workers ask him about it, Welt has to hold himself back from an proud ramble abt two of the most important ppl in his life and how he’s super grateful 😭
They should be warned though… because once someone asks additional questions, I’m afraid Welt will completely forget abt his work

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the crew turning the Express upside down to officiate your integration into the living space, there is one member who isn’t as enthusiastic about the change.
Welt was as delighted as anyone else aboard that you’d chosen to be sworn in as Nameless, but despite the buzz about the hallways and the excitement in the air, he finds himself more concerned with a more forlorn cloud hanging over his head. The seats you’d called your bed for the past few months in the Parlour Car where the same place he’d comforted you during your first meeting, anticipating a warp. Many nights he’d kept you company, talking about anything to keep your thoughts off the bizarre dreams that further clouded the few memories you had. As an early riser, yours was often the first face he’d come to see in the morning (regardless of if you were still awake, having nowhere else to take yourself). Welt had come to enjoy his routines in his older age, and having you accessible quickly became a pillar to that.
There was no shortage of young Trailblazers without a role model to look up to, and you were no exception. He was as honoured to fill that void for you as he was for March 7th and Dan Heng. He’d anticipated the usual responsibility that came with such a role, but what he hadn’t anticipated was the roles you filled in return.
