Do you think you’d ever finish the wendi fic for the event that didn’t happen? Or perhaps post what was written?

So there were a lot of ideas and I had an idea what it was going to be. Pretty much some new soldier thinking they can get with the Captain. Unaware of literally everything else. You can see more details about that in the tag on my blog it was pretty much the last thing I talked about.

There are a thousand words in the doc though and I highly doubt I'll ever finish it but I'll post it here.

Charlotte McCann was placed in the 141 after being taken from her place in the Royal Navy. She was excited to be placed here mainly because she only heard praises about this team of elites. When she walked into base she was greeted by the most handsome man she had ever seen. He was big and broad with light eyes and scruff the only criticism was his haircut a mohawk wouldn’t be her first choice.

He waited for her to step forward and she did as well as saluting him, he saluted back before offering his hand for her to shake. The smell of cigars and seawater invaded her senses and she immediately knew he was like her. It made sense selkies were supposed to be entrancing and he definitely fit the bill.

“Captain MacTavish.” He offered and she zeroed in on the mating bite he was sporting. Not an issue she would just challenge the mate and prove she was better. “Lieutenant McCann.” She offered back and he nodded at her respectfully. He waved her to follow and she did as they made their way through the base as he explained her transfer here.

“Ya are going tae be assistin’ with some water-heavy missions and dependin’ on how well ye do with us ye can be placed here permanently.” She nodded along. She watched as others stared as she walked by. When she was dropped off at her room and knew where the most important things were he left her to her own devices until training later today.

She made her way to the mess looking for food. As she entered the mess she was surprised to see a few others in there as well. They greeted her with a smile and introduced themselves all except one who had signed his introduction. They pointed her to the raw fish and she was extremely grateful. There was a wide variety of food here and she was amazed at just how accommodating the base was. There had even been a safe in her room with a customizable pin she could place her coat in.

Overall it was a good experience so far.

She was headed to the rec room with a few of the men when they ran into another soldier they were all quick to introduce her. Lieutenant Ghost was lanky and thin she didn’t quite understand how he was a Lieutenant or even in the military for that matter. He looked like a strong breeze of wind could blow him away but she refrained from commenting on that.

As soon as she shook his hand she felt the light tinge of magic she knew claimed him to another Interesting. Who would want a man like this? As he passed the slight smell of cigars lingered.

Training went well and she was glad to say she fit in well with the 141 everyone worked like a well-oiled machine and even MacTavish seemed impressed.

Later that day she saw the Captain walking the halls with Ghost on his heel as they talked she couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the hand the Captain had on the small of Ghost’s back. They entered the rec room and she followed after. The whole team was in there hanging out the Captain and Lieutenent placed themselves on the open spot on the couch. The Captain threw his arm around the man and pulled him close to his side. Ghost didn’t blink at it just cuddled as close as he could with a content noise. To her surprise no one batted an eye and when the MacTavish lightly bit at Ghost’s covered neck and Riley bit back in return she realized why. They were mates MacTavish was the one who claimed him and Riley’s bite was the one on MacTavish.

She couldn’t help but be insulted by that. Ghost wasn’t good enough for him not to her. MacTavish deserved pups and a strong mate not whatever Ghost was. She was confident she could beat him and win MacTavish. Now she just needed to find the right opportunity.

She slowly got closer and closer to MacTavish and he was fully aware of what she was doing but just paid it no mind. The other 141 members however didn’t seem too pleased by it. Ghost just watched her blankly and just continued doing what he usually did.

“Cap That the hell?” Chemo asked strolling into his office one day. MacTavish raised a brow at him but didn’t stop what he was doing. “What do ye want Chemo?” The Captain asked tiredly.

“Why are you letting McCann flirt with you?!” Chemo sounded actually upset and MacTavish finally gave the kaiju his attention. “You’re upset why?” The selkie asked gesturing to the seat in front of his desk. Chemo sat down and started talking.

“Riley has been through so much aren’t you worried this will upset him allowing her to flirt with you?’” Chemo asked and MacTavish tilted his head side to side as he thought of a response. “I think the issue is ye all don’t understand how selkies work.”

“Oh?” Chemo asked snarkily and the Captain chuckled. “Selkies don't have the same idea of mates they arnae sacred rather ye are free to challenge anyone's mate ye feel is weak or not good enough.” MacTavish sounded amused and suddenly the kaiju understood.

“She thinks Riley is weak and couldn’t win against her.” Chemo sounds disbelieving and MacTabish chuckles but nods a confrimation. Suddenly Chemo laughs as all the worry is lifted from his shoulders. MacTavish isn’t being ignorant of Riley’s feelings he is making a fool of the new Lieutenant. “Thank you Cap that explains it.” Chemo responded as he smiled at his Captain.

“No problem Chemo go ahead and tell the others so they will stop giving me dirty looks.” The selkie requested and Chemo happily agreed. MacTavish hoped that would chill the team out. He understood their concern but it annoyed him they doubted his actions. Well it didn’t matter Riley knew where his soul lay and it would never be anywhere but besides in his hands and he had proven that when he fed the man Price. Riley was curled up in their room right now curled up in his coat hopefully sleeping. He smiled at the mere thought.

Riley knew what was going on he had told him before she even landed it was a possibility she may try this and Riley had only been amused and curious.

A sneak peak for the people of my new fic.

I had an idea last night and started writing it today. The idea was 09 Ghost being a lore accurate Wendigo and MacTavish is kinda into him.

He scanned the surrounding forest before his keen ears picked up….ripping? He made his way into the trees and towards the steadily growing noise. Eventually, he turned a tree and there was Ghost he however wasn’t alone. Ghost was sitting crouched on the ground over a man mask pulled over his nose revealing a pale gaunt face covered in blood. The man below him was ripped to pieces and he watched as Ghost leaned down once again and sank his teeth into the man's flesh before pulling and ripping off a chunk of flesh and quickly devoured it. Ghost ate quickly and methodically and in dawning horror MacTavish realized the man was still alive. The man had been presumably paralyzed because he didn’t scream in pain only scrunched up his face in anguish.

MacTavish stumbled backwards foot landing on a stick causing it to snap under his weight. Ghost’s head shot up sunken eyes wild mouth still full of flesh being pulled into a snarl. MacTavish quickly raised his hands in surrender backing away slowly. This wasn’t his lieutenant right now this was a feeding predator who would kill if its food was threatened. He could relate he was a selkie after all. Riley’s eyes focused slightly as he came back to himself as blood dripped onto the forest floor in the following silence. “Why did yous come lookin’ for me captain?” Riley asked as he went back to his meal and continued to eat undeterred.

I need to give my Wendigo Ghost rant!

I don't think I've told the whole of Tumblr why I made him a wendigo.

Ok so things you need to know about wendigos.

1. They are created from desperation

2. To become one you need to digest human flesh

3. They are synonymous with colder climates specially Southern Canada and Northern America AKA the old Algonquian tribe territory where the Wendigo myth originated from

4. The only way their killed is by fire

5. In some stories they are insanely smart

SO MY REASONING CONSISTS OF A FEW POINTS.

Ghost was tortured in many ways under Roba and a known thing that has been studied is the horrendous effect eating a human will have on the psyche. Trying to break ghost it's not out of the realm of possibility he would be fed human flesh.

It is a logical assumption then that being so desperate to survive plus the consumption of human flesh could lead to the creation of a wendigo.

Wendigos do not need to be created from Northern climates. Even though it's typical it is not necessary. The reason the north is so prevalent is because of long winters without food. There's a higher chance of running out of food in the winter in Northern climates than in southern ones. So cold is not necessary.

Next is the fire aspect answer me this how does Ghost die in the original games? That's right ding ding ding he gets burnt to death!! And what does that sound familiar to?!

Finally the 'powers' of a wendigo. Wendigos don't necessarily have powers rather they're just enhanced humans. They turn beastly because to eat another human is so horrendous there's no way you could be human if you did it. Wendigos are super fast and super strong near unkillable and are forever hungry. Ghost is in cannon pretty much all of that he is a legend with so much mythos surrounding him it makes him seem inhumane.

Lastly just some extra points. In some stories wendigos are extremely intelligent for example in one a one to go captured a boy and continue to feed him until he was fatter and good enough to eat. In that same story the one to go set the boy into town to get more food but the boy told the townspeople. The townspeople hunted down the wendigo and cut off all of its limbs. They came back weeks later and the Wendigo was still alive and it was eating the marrow out of its own bones. They then cut off its head and it officially died.

So at least in that story wendigos can be extremely intelligent and I'd argue Ghost was tactical enough to fit that description.
