I just finished Everland and I ended up giving it a 4 out of 5 stars. The ending was absolutely crazy but not as bad as I expected it to be. I was very surprised no one I really liked died.

Overall I really enjoyed reading this book. The pace never slowed down; something crazy was always happening. I thought the Lost City was really cool and different and I really liked the hint of steampunk that was added throughout the book. Gwen is an amazing main character who is brave and sweet. I absolutely loved Pete and Doc and all of the Lost Boys. They were just so sweet and they made my heart melt. I ended up really liking Bella after she was kind of annoying in the beginning. I feel like her change of attitude and heart at the end was a little random though.

I liked Gwen and Pete together a lot but there were a few times when I feel like she became the typical YA female main character who’s top priority and only thing she can think about is her love interest. I was also annoyed but the fact that the minute they introduce a new really cool female character she starts flirting with Pete and making Gwen jealous but I’m glad that didn’t last long. I love how Gwen never let anything stop her from making sure her family was safe. I also really liked getting Hook’s point of view because you don’t usually get that and I thought it was written really well.

I’m really excited to read the rest of Gwen’s journey and how life is outside of Everland and the UK and if Hook will play a part in the next books.

This book is about England falling, and an evil queen who is German that bombed all of England. Gwen, Joanna, and Mikey do everything to survive. There is only one girl in the world with the medicine to stop a killing virus.

This book is similar to Peter Pan, and it is such a good book!
