1,648 words so far and it’s just now noon! 1,296 have been for my Sherlock Holmes project so far, which is kind of surprising. It was #13 on my list of 17 writing projects, but I was suddenly inspired to move it to my top 4 5 6 around 2am this morning while I was lying awake. My mechanic one got moved up too; it was initially #12. They ended up booting out my initial #1 and my #5 spots.
It’s almost 7pm and in the hopes of not burning myself out, I’m taking a break. I managed 3,033 words, completely exceeding my expectations. 2,305 of those words were for Sherlock Holmes and around 300 were for mechanic. I’m only able to keep such accurate track of Sherlock Holmes because I started it this morning, whereas I’d had a few words for mechanic written already.
It’s about 10pm and I’ve managed 3,330 words. For real this time, I’m done for the day. My brain is fried. I’m almost positive I won’t be able to do maybe even half of this tomorrow; I’ve got a busy day scheduled at work.
I did, I think, 726 words today. It’s past midnight, so I can no longer see the word count. It’s nowhere near the word count from yesterday, but I’m okay with it. I’m still on track with how much extra I banked. I’m thinking I might try to do that as my schedule; I attempt 3k words one day and then the next day I just try and reach my daily minimum of 500 words and spend time outlining. That way I’m less likely to get bored and/or tired of writing, but I’ll still finish with around 50k words at the end of the month.
Another busy day at work! An early morning meeting and then the three other people that share my workload were out, so I was doing the work for all of us. 1,530 words today, which wasn’t what I had hoped, but that’s okay! I’m getting past the beginnings of each story and transitioning into the plot, which is proving a bit more difficult, especially since I haven’t finished outlining for most of them. I’m hoping to work on that some this weekend.
It’s almost 10pm and I’ve done 1,062 words. I’ve also discovered that if you use the web browser version of Werdsmith, it doesn’t add to your word count. It’s a real bummer; it puts a damper on my plans. I also added to the outline for greek mythology, but I have no way of knowing how many words it was, so I’m only counting the words I added to the actual stories. I’m going to try and do more; I’m working another 5p-9a night shift, so I have no idea how successful I’ll be.
It’s a little over an hour later and I’m sitting on 2,195 words! I ended up switching out one of my 6 main projects for something else in order to achieve that. I’m really excited about my family restaurant one, the idea that I switched out of the lineup, and I’ve got a lot of great ideas for it, but I’m stuck on how to start it. I switched it for my medieval one and I’d already had approximately 1,500 words written. It was previously #17 on my list; I think it’s amusing how my later projects are usurping the ones I’d initially labeled as my favorite when it comes to actually writing them.
1,728 words today! It was mostly for medieval.
I don’t have much else to say; I’m still struggling with actually starting off the plots since I don’t have much outlined.
I haven’t done anything with bucket list so far, and it doesn’t have a coherent theme or plot, so I think I’m going to switch it out with clean-up crew instead. I like clean-up crew much better anyway, but I was trying to have a few simpler books in my lineup and the new one is part of a trilogy; it also will involve world-building. We’ll see how it goes; I can always switch it out again for something else if I don’t feel like I’m making sufficient progress on it.
3,015 words today! Mostly for medieval. I am incredibly psyched and having a wonderful time right now; seriously, the happy brain chemicals from all this writing are making me do strange things. I mean, I smiled at work today. I initiated a conversation with someone. It was crazy.
I’ve done 1,614 words today. I’ll be honest, I’m somewhat confused about it too. I’m pretty sure I only worked on medieval, but if I add the amount of words I wrote today to yesterday’s final word count, there’s a 453-word discrepancy. 67 of those words belong to clean-up crew, but the other 386 words are a mystery. I didn’t work on any outlines or any stories outside of my 6. I’m wondering if they’re words I wrote and then deleted. Werdsmith didn’t used to count those; they could’ve updated. It’s a mystery.
It’s Nov 10 now; I didn’t keep track of this day, but due to some clever subtracting and being lucky enough to have posted a picture of my word count on Nov 1, I know it was only 323 words.
It’s Nov 10 now; I did 803 words on this day, which I can guess by doing some subtracting. I was very busy at work; I hardly got a chance to sit from 9am to 7pm and then I went to dinner and a movie with my SO. I didn’t get back to the house until after midnight.
2,173 words today! I’m glad I’m getting back on track; the last two days have been lacking.
I’m switching out clean-up crew for a nonfiction book. For the record, I started Nanowrimo with 137 words written for this story and I’m switching it out while it’s at 345 words. I don’t have enough of the plot figured out to be able to write freely for it.
That lasted less than a day. I’m switching out nonfiction for back in time. I did write some for nonfiction, but I was more inspired by the other one, and I think I’ve got more of the plot figured out. I still started with 0 words for it, too.
1,570 words today! Not bad, only 40 less than my goal.
4,005 words total for this span of time. It’s somewhat disappointing, but it’s overshadowed by the fact that I wrote nearly 20k words in less than 2 weeks. I think that’s impressive!
30,633 words left; I’m 38.73% of the way done! I need to complete 1,702 words a day (or some configuration of words per day that results in the same thing) in order to achieve my Nanowrimo-inspired goal.
