I was going through some of my old art files and I found a WIP of Werebat Chris that I remember doing as part of a Halloween-themed thing a friend and I started last year. I never got round to finishing it, but it did motivate me to do a bunch of Werebat Chris doodles! :D

can people be born as werebeasts or can there only be more of them through infection?

Different were beasts have different rules!

Werewolves = if both parents are werewolves, the kids will have it too. Also, due to the nature of werewolfism, it's difficult to share bodily fluids to make a baby without sharing enough to infect your partner with werewolfism. As werewolves can be made by birth or bite, there are LOTS of them, which is why the werewolf department at the Institute is larger than most of the others.

Werebears/berserkers = runs in the family, cannot be passed by infection.

Werebats = only infection; a werewolf bites a vampire. Werebats cannot infect victims

Selkies = born this way, no infection involved

Lycanthropy question...

If two different were creatures bite you like say a werewolf and a werebat. How does it work? Do they both affect you? Does only the first one count? Does the stronger one win? Do you just die? Do you become some weird half werewolf half werebat creature? Do you get the two half creatures stuck together so you become a wolfbat? Do you become quarter wolf quarter bat half human? Do you alternate forms each full moon?
