Marinette knew the enchanted forest well. She had begun to visit more frequently in the previous months. With akumas running ramped, she was determined to keep her loved ones safe in such a dangerous time. Her journeys out weren’t as often as she would have liked given the frequent hazards of the forest.
The smog was heavy, her footsteps crunched the fallen leaves beneath her dark boots. There was a stickiness in the air as humidity latched onto her skin. Marinette could sense the eerily feeling gathering in her chest. Occasional glows of eyeshine caught her gaze, making her speed up a few paces. Despite the warmth from the red hood covering her head, chills still ran up her spin. The hairs on the nape of her neck stood on edge as she swallowed her nerves.
Maybe, bringing along the basket croissants from her parents wasn’t the brightest idea…
The smell of the fresh pastries could attract who-knew-what type of creatures to follow her. Marinette’s destination wasn’t too much further. She tried her best to tame her unease and reach the wood cabin just across the stream.
Just a bit further, she reminded herself. Just a bit further until she was out.
Her fingers clenched around the basket, chest tight with nerves. Marinette always felt like something was watching her. Not just the akumas. It was like the forest was alive… watching and waiting for her to let her guard down.
She was thankful when she finally spotted the tiny cabin. The relief was short-lived because the cabin was dark. It was late at night though… It was a regular time to be sleeping, right?
Marinette sprinted up the steps, feeling just a bit safer to almost be inside. She knocked on the wooden door, smiling as she sang out. “Hellooo? Anyone home?”
No answer.
Huh. That was weird.
The door was unlocked when she turned the knob. Marinette’s heartbeat quickened with worry as she pushed the front door open.
“...Hello?” she called.
Silence followed again.
Slowly, she entered the wooden home. The kitchen window was open, allowing the warm breeze to float in. She tried to stay quiet as she peaked around the apparently empty home. Nothing in the kitchen seemed ajar.
Marinette knitted her brows and walked over to the round, wooden table. As she sat down her basket of croissants, streaks of red caught her eye. She gasped, clutching the table for purchase as she stared down at the blood stains painting the hardwood.
“Adrien!?”
A groan rang out from the back of the house.
Marinette scurried through the short hallways, following the trail of red down to the bedroom. She prayed that would lead her to the sound.
Slamming open the door, there she found her poor Adrien. He leaned against his bed, clutching the nape of his neck. Blood covered his fingers, staining his white shirt and green jacket. His breaths were shallow. Golden cat ears were flattened on his head with each strangled gasp.
Adrien peaked an eye open, his green sclera seeming duller than usual. Eyes that were typically full of life when he saw her were barely focused. “M-Marinette?”
She immediately dropped to his side. “Adrien! Ohmygod! I was so worried! Why are you hurt!? What happened!?” Her hands were frantic in the air, not sure if touching him would be helpful or harmful in his current state.
He tried to sit up against the bed more, hissing as he did so. “Akumas. A lot of them. All at once.”
Marinette placed a gentle hand on his cheek turning his gaze to hers. Adrien’s eyes seemed unsteady, breathing shallow. “I can help...”
Grimacing, he shook his head. “N-No, I can’t ask you to do that.”
She pressed her forehead to his. The smell of crimson burned her nose the closer she got to him. “Let me, Kitten, please.”
Marinette felt him wince with a hiss when she gingerly touched the wound between his neck and shoulder. His voice was hoarse as he attempted to argue once more. “My lady… I don’t want you to be hurt because of me.”
“I’d hurt more if I lost you,” she murmured softly in response.
He seemed to finally relent at her gentle words. Adrien relaxed under her palms, his eyes meeting hers. “I’ll catch you,” he whispered.
Her heart beat quickened as she placed both palms over his bloodied skin. Streaks of red stained her fingertips. Taking in a deep breath, Marinette focused her energy into his injury, willing the skin to close, to heal, to take his pain as her own. It was an unfortunate side-effect of her healing abilities. To heal someone else, she took on the pain herself. It would subside after time. Typically, after she lost consciousness…
Adrien’s wound slowly began to close, flesh surging back together. There was a sudden light emitting from his tattered skin as Marinette’s healing abilities swept through his being. She cried out in agony as the pain of his affliction overtook her own body. Marinette gripped at her neck as exertion consumed her. Keeping his word, her kitten caught her head in his hand to shield her from the inevitable consequences of saving him from bleeding out.
Her back hit the hardwood as her body seized up in discomfort. Adrien held her raven locks between his fingers, his eyes full of worry as he watched her world slowly go to black.
“I got you, my lady,” he assured. She could feel his touch on her cheek as her eyes slowly closed.
Adrien gets a secret off his chest. Mostly unedited so excuse my typos.

Marinette sat cross legged atop her chaise, brows furrowed in concentration. Adrien gazed up at her from his place on the floor while she considered the information he’d metaphorically dropped in her lap.
“So this “Plagg” guy is the one who bit you? And all of a sudden, he wants to help?” She asked with a frown.
Adrien shrugged.
“Sounds suspicious to me,” Marinette said.
“Me too,” Adrien admitted.
“So why are you even considering it?” She asked.
Adrien frowned. “He said he knew my mother.”
Marinette sighed.
“I don’t know, Kitty. I’m not going to tell you what to do, but I think he sounds shady.”
“Yeah.”
“Plagg isn’t even a real name,” she reasoned.
Adrien nodded.
“I don’t have any reason to trust him.”
Marinette gave him a wry smile, “But?”
“But I’m really curious,” he admitted.
“You know what they say about curiosity and cats,” Marinette teased.
Chat Noir stole across the rooftops under the cover of early morning darkness. The pads of his feet barely made a sound as he bounded over concrete and tile alike. After werewolf sightings in the media started trending, he’d been more nervous than ever.
Much to Adrien’s surprise, it turned out that werewolf paranoia actually made it easier for a werecat to hide in plain sight.
When everyone was looking out for hulking masses of fur, no one was paying attention to the small, lanky werecat darting across the rooftops.
Featuring werecat!adrien who’s cursed to roam Paris as a dangerous beast every full moon and has to deal with 1) not to let his dad know (which is hard, bc the morning afters have him suuuper tired) and 2) seeing news in the papers about this or that person who’d been attacked by something and knowing it’s HIS fault
Enter Marinette
It’s actually kind of a mistunderstanding? Blame Marinette’s crazy luck. Anyway, somehow, the very same night that weird puma that walks on its hinds legs shows up just as her hands are coated in catnip
There is no attacks that night
And the thing is, now the cat is intriged by that human who smelt good. So he hangs around her. First look at her from afar. Then gets closer, and closer… Until they somehow ‘tame’ each other? I mean the big cat doesn’t want to attack the human and visit her every full moons while Marinette goes from 'pretty freaked out’ to 'oh hey you’re back again big kitty whaddya wanna do tonight play with yarn?’
Meanwhile, Adrien is kinda confused by the lack of attacks. I mean, he’s still cursed (silver still burns him for a start) so what happened?
Enter Alya
Alya keeps a blog on paranormal n stuff (including, you guessed, the 'mysterious attacks of the Big Blonde Cat’) so Adrien starts getting himself updated through her
So yea that’s the setting
Shenanigans ensue
Bonus: one day, Alya n Marinette have a sleepover (yey!!) and talk about boys until three am till there’s a light knock on Marinette’s window.
It’s a cat
A really big, really weird blonde cat
Cue some awkward 'WHAT ARE THOSE MARINETTE WHAT ARE THOOOOOOSE’
And tons of new pics for Alya’s blog
(Bonus x2: this probably end with Marinette and the cat falling asleep together one night and Marinette and A Very Naked Adrien wakinh up the next morning)
