This isn't an original concept but I decided to make my own headcanons for em!

I'm not making this an original species either. An original species shouldn't be just a hybrid, yk? That's not super original imo

Part of my Equestrian Myths Au

::Note it’s mainly just a excuse to draw cool art and stuff, no real stories in it ::

WereColts and WereMare’s

||EquinWolves, Werequins,WerePonies ||

These types of Monster Ponies or Werewolves are rare in Equins/Ponies but is plausible to happen , usually the genecode to turn one into a Were is if they run into a Pure Werewolf which is a real Werewolf , Pure Werewolves though are mainly of the Diamond Dog variant .

For a Pony to turn Werequin/pony is if they survive an encounter with a Pure Werewolf after being horribly mauled , as the salavia of such creature can infect the prey though then they have to survive the process of turning as it can be both painful and life threatening .

15-40% can survive the first transformation, from then on its permant after the second full moon.

::Other ways for Wereponies to happen is if they couple up with another werepony or pony , you ethier create a pure werepony or hybrid or if lucky a regular pony, depends how strong the genes are in the parents.

IRON ROSE:

The patriarch of the Rose family, orphaned at about age 15 Iron began training to become commander of the werepony species. His hard work paid off, and after years in his position he met Lavendula. Their love wasn't an immediate one, but eventually they both got married and welcomed an adopted puppy, and two sets of twins. He's currently 36 years old.

Lavendula Rose:

The matriarch of the Rose family, Lavendula was sold to the Canterlot school of gifted unicorns when she was only 3 due to a high level of magical power. Between the ages of 3 and 20 years old she was trained to become a powerful spellcaster AND a smooth diplomat in charge of Equestrias toughest cases. She was assigned to the werepony species purely out of her own research, where she met Iron. Of course the mare hadn't expected to marry him, let alone have puppies, become a werepony herself AND become leader. But here she is, Lavendula is currently 35 years old.

MICA ROSE:

The firstborn of the Rose family, and the biggest by far, Mica is a 4 year old puppy with a penchant for food. He's a daddy's boy by heart, and even at his young age its hoped he'll be the next commander once his father steps down.

HONEYCRISP ROSE:

Honeycrisp, nickname 'honey' is Micas twin sister. When Mica was born Honeycrisp's existence wasn't even known until she came out into the world! Much too small and weak to survive on her own the puppy was in and out of the Canterlot and Manehatten hospitals for the first 4 months of her life. When she was finally able to come home it was clear she'd need special attention and love, which her parents are more than happy to give to her despite their full paws. She's already showing magical promise just like her mother.

GALAXY and COMET Rose:

Galaxy and Comet were born a mere 2 weeks after Mica and Honeycrisp were born, Iron is absolutely their biological father, no arguing with that. But the identity of their mother is... Guessable, depending on which species you ask. Wereponies are close to the moon after all. Understandably both Iron and Lavendula were quite shaken to be given an extra set of puppies seemingly from nowhere, but motherly Lavendula didn't complain. She scooped the two into her brood and treated them like her own. She doesn't need to ask to know who birthed them, but she doesn't mind. Comet is quiet, and smaller than her siblings, but there is a magical air about her than neither parents have been able to pin. While Galaxy, despite his flashy nature, is the sweetest little mommas boy any pony could ask for.

UMBRA ROSE:

Umbra is the oldest of the brood, but is not biologically Lavendula or Irons puppy. She was adopted from the castles daycare/orphanage, but the fate of her biological parents is unknown. Despite her seemingly tragic start to life, Umbra is happy with her mommy Lavendula, and her Daddy Iron. And shes more than thrilled to have so many playmates now! Umbra is 6 years old.

Sent to learn more about their dying species... Hmm. And why was it they were dying, Hmm? Would it have had anything to do with why they didn't trust you when you arrived, Lavendula? Ponies wouldn't have had anything to do with, would they have? It's not like Ponies have been known before to other and reject those other races they don't understand, right?
