What aesthetic do you think Sterek's Christmas decorations would be? Like the OTT designs celebrities have? Minimalistic? Classic red/green or cooler tones?
Okay so it's been a long time since I've celebrated Christmas (my family was never religious, only celebrated Christmas for a handful of years while in the US and us kids were tiny so we wouldn't feel left out) BUT there's a few things to think about here.
Like, Stiles would not miss out on the chance to put up those lighted reindeer or like a realistic one and go to Derek like "on a scale of 1 to 10 how yummy does that look to you? How strong is your urge to rip its throat out?"
He also wouldn't miss out on the chance to shower Derek with gifts and make him feel at home and warm and cozy and loved - which is what Christmas is all about right?
On the other hand, Stiles' mother was polish right so it's also very exciting to consider him being Jewish and Derek is a werewolf so like... Who knows what they celebrate traditionally, y'know? Like my ancestors from my little country never had a state or organized religion unless they were being conquered and controlled by some other power. From what we have left of the past, we can only tell that they had a faith that showed itself in a different way, that referred and focused more on nature and natural energies. And sind I love nature and I am obsessed with the supernatural and separating it from the human parts, I would go wild of some other winter-y traditions Derek could've had with his pack, and since in a way, my ancestors were called pagans for not believing in the God they were trying to be forced to believe in, maybe there are some things that are similar to paganism (for the record, I know nothing about paganism, but I heard that Christmas was moved to acclimate the pagan celebration dates?? So that makes it even MORE interesting) and like since Stiles is a spark... He totally embraces those other traditions, right? Maybe they make him stronger?
...this probably did not go in the direction you wanted, but see like, we could have sterek with magical Christmas lights that float, courtesy of Stiles, and ofc there would be no mistletoe bc poison~ but I also don't think they'd be cutting a tree down to drag into their living room, because how much more awesome would it be if they found a tree to decorate with magical light outside? Plus, I once spent New year's in the snowy mountains tops during a full moon and that was the closest my soul ever felt to fulfillment so could you imagine how a Werwolf would feel out in the snowy forests under the moon???? Add a little campfire with tea they freshly picked or idek and you have perfection

It's Derek's birthday the 25th, right? So it's not Christmas that matters most or the presents, because how does Derek even really feel about his birthday? Doesn't matter because Stiles will totally go to the ends of the world to somehow make it the most perfect day for Derek so that yes he can learn to love it and his own existence because he's a beautiful soul who deserves it
