okay so I may be really late to the train (despite watching the show when it first released) but poor Charles getting flack for being in denial and I NEED TO KNOW. A lot of the denial headcanons come from the context of his youth in the eighties, his experience of the AIDS crisis. It would have been a dangerous thing to admit to. So I think he has a lot of factors that could push him into denial. But no, he never says he's straight. He says, "Do you miss kissing?" and he says "We've got literally forever to figure out the rest" and he says "I can't say..."

And I think he can't say, given everything, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know.
