The Falling of Stars
I have mentioned countless number of times how much I am in love with Deas Vail. Well, Wes Blaylock is my absolute crush. And no, I'm not gay. Gosh! He's rated like 10/10 in my books. If I only had his gifts. *faints* I just found a song he recorded on his phone while playing the piano. It's absolutely beautiful. I'm hoping he includes it in an EP or album soon. Here's his note about the song:
I wrote this song during a really violent storm in Franklin, TN. I was sitting alone in a room with a piano and I was moved by how calming it was to view the storm through my window. The contrast of viewing utter chaos and destruction through a window, or anything that disconnects the viewer from the actual incident, inspired me. It suddenly came to me that old fighter pilot footage has an odd mystery and almost a peacefulness about it, and yet the scenes of planes falling from the sky is surely one of the most chaotic events imaginable. Interview with pilots in WWII reveal how pilots usually did not feel like they were shooting down other people. It was just another objective, and another plane. Similarly, watching planes go down doesn't feel like watching people fall from the sky, unless you really think about it. The contrast between the perception and the actual experience caused by the incident is intense!

This silence could go on forever. Am I walking with you in your dreams?
Deas Vail - "Cages"
And we owe this to ourselves, To say what we really mean. Honestly, I don't see how this could end happily. I can run to no one else, And can't stand the sight of this. The ground beneath me breaking, And I'm falling helpless
