Parallels: Wes taking care of the people he cares about "He Deserved to Die" (1x07) & "It's About Frank" (3x05)
In the end I actually wrote quite a few Chocolate Box fics this year, mostly at the last minute lols. Fandoms included Alpennia, Animorphs, Gravity Falls, Hikaru no Go, How to Get Away With Murder, Queen’s Thief, Richard II, and Sense8.
My assigned fic was for the Alpennia fandom. not so late Alpennia: Barbara/Margerit Rated M Words: 2163 Margerit is half asleep when she kisses Barbara in the library, which is her only real excuse. But the situation works out in her favor.
Then I did a pinch hit for Gravity Falls. Swans and Nettles Gravity Falls: Mabel/Pacifica Rated G Words: 4871 When Pacifica is turned into a swan, she goes to the Pines twins for help. Mabel might have the key for turning her back into a human.
The rest of the fics I wrote were all treats. Poolside Evening Animorphs: Jake/Marco Rated T Words: 1337 Marco, Jake, and a night in. Because the Go Institute is Full of Cheapskates Hikaru no Go: Akira/Hikaru Rated M Words: 1492 At the hotel for this tournament, Hikaru and Akira somehow have ended up with a one-bed room.
after italian How to Get Away With Murder: Wes/Annalise Rated T Words: 1201 When the Worst Year Ever draws to a close, Annalise decides to take Wes out for dinner. The Grand Tour Sense8: Nomi/Amanita/Everyone Rated T Words: 2474 Despite Nomi and Amanita’s protests, Kala and Rajan insist that they accept an all-expenses-paid honeymoon. They decide to visit all of their cluster-mates' homes, at least briefly.
This earth of majesty Richard II: Richard/Henry Rated T Words: 1946 The rightful king of England can perform land magic--which should be Richard, but the earth has begun to shift.
An Apparition in a Crowd Queen's Thief: Eugenides/Eugenides-the-God Rated T Words: 1307 The man is wearing a brooch that Eugenides knows he dedicated at his god's altar.
anyways I hope if you read any of them you enjoy :)
Wes & Annalise...
The chemistry was so real they had to kill off Wes and make Annalise say to the very end she loved him like a son. Think about it...
“Hey, Professor Keating! I got that internship.”
Friendly reminder that Annalise has in a way, watched Wes grow up. She has watched him go from a child who had trauma in his life from such a young age and even as an adult carrying that burden around and receiving even more trauma to growing into a young man who has learnt to deal and live with he’s grief, but also didn’t let he’s past and everything in between define him. Wes still wen’t out and found he’s own happiness. And in this moment, Annalise must have been so proud, relieved and happy.
And then he just ends up gone from the world, all that grief and pain and trauma and almost making it to more then just another statistic, murdered.
Parallels: Wes & Annalise in the season premiere "Pilot" (1x01) / "It's Time to Move On" (2x01) / "We're Good People Now" (3x01)
A HTGAWM season premiere isn't complete without Wes riding a bike to campus, Annalise calling on Wes in class, and a slightly inappropriate moment between them ;)
The K4's remarks on Wes & Annalise's relationship
The writers made it very clear that the relationship between Annalise and Wes was not normal. We as viewers picked up on the ambiguity (remember the "Are they mother/son or lovers" debates?), but the characters on the show noticed their strange relationship too.
I love the remarks others made about their relationship: their comments went from purely maternal and platonic, to more romantic, to deeply disturbing...
Here's an overview of how each member of the K4 saw their relationship:
Wes & Annalise in every episode "It's Time to Move On" (2x01)
You can't turn down a woman who asks you to dance.
Look at me. I've seen how strong you can be. And that's the Wes I need for you to be right now, to help the others.
