nobody will write this if i dont and i do not have the time or energy but im throwing it in the tag just in case: (NOT re8 time, pre re5) while plotting against Miranda, Karl manages to get his hands on some of her old papers including letters from her pal Ozwell Spencer which mention in passing some other projects including one Albert Wesker.

Karl had long since given up on trying to convince his siblings they were screwed, but realizing he might not be alone in this after all, he risks one desperate hail mary to get word out to this Wesker guy about turning against their makers and seizing freedom for themselves.

Albert wouldn't generally take kindly to some crackpot proposal by a complete stranger who has no understanding of the steps he's already taken to rid himself of Umbrella, but there's a bit more here than a stranger should know, and as soon as he can verify the details it triggers his crisis of identity about Project W early (and notably out of Spencer-killing distance) which gives him a moment to consider his moves more carefully and with an apparent ally already backing him.

blah blah blah plot contrivance here cahoots entered conspiracy conspired plans plotted etc obviously it would take Wesker a wary minute to get a good read on Heisenberg but Heisenberg has never had a friend ally in his life and it does not go any smoother here than with ethan in canon

where i am going with this is contriving some obscure loophole in Miranda's own pretense of rule that allows them to sneak off to scheme by means of political marriage. re8 implies she doesn't start just doing whatever until she has Rosemary in custody so this many years earlier she would still be keeping up the act of the village having like. laws.
