Emily grinned up from her spot on the couch when she saw her boss come in to the tattoo shop. “Hey. I’ve finished a big piece earlier, it turned out really well. Do you want to see it?” She already stood up, holding out her phone to him so he could see the video she took before waiting for his answer, overly eager. The work was something she was proud of, but she wanted his opinion and welcomed the criticism that was sure to follow. It was what helped her improve her skills the most.

Her first trip into the Bramblewood will always be a moment she will remember.

Birds chirping as she biked over the bridge, leaves rustling above her head. The soft smile on the creature keepers face when she had offered her help.

'It's rare for newcomers to offer kindness so freely' he said.

What started off as a quick act of kindness had slowly become a moment of peace reading beneath the trees of the Bramblewood forest. The sort of peace she always had a longing for.

One quiet afternoon when Maya was tending to her garden, she stumbled upon a visitor. A wild rabbit. Even when she reached out the critter didn't run away.

Maybe, just maybe, she just made her first friend.

It's been a few days since her friend died. Although she's been down she's finally gotten herself out the house and to her favourite place in the whole in Henford. The Bramblewood.

Nothing like a quiet autumn run in nature to lift her spirits.

Maya was awoken by the sound of her phone vibrating on the shelf behind her, an unknown caller ID lighting up the room. She just ignored it initially, it was 3AM after all, what legitimate call would happen at that time? But after the third time her phone called out she answered...

'Sarah is dead' Simon Scott, her first friends husband choked out 'I thought you'd like to know'

The words hit harder than she could've realised, and she couldn't find the words to say something back.

Recently Maya got promoted to Plant Nerd, meaning she's half way through her career track!

However the hard work she put into achieving that caused burnout so she took the day off and spent one of the last days of autumn in the Bramblewood, which really helped.

The bonus she received also allowed her to buy her first cow. Her name is Henrietta.
