A Practical Use of Explosives (event idea)

Here’s one for you DM’s that want so gnomes being destructive.

The players are walking through the countryside, when all of a sudden, the dirt in the distance is blown up. If the players go over & check, they will see that gnome farmer is putting some weird explode into tiny holes in the ground. 

If the players ask the gnome about what they are doing, the gnome will tell them that he has a wessel problem & that the Dachshund that they owned had recently died, so they are now just blowing up the weasel holes as the new solution. If the players come up with a better solution (or atleast a better solution in the eye of the gnomes) then they will get thanked & are given 3 of the explosives that the gnome was using.
