Southern California is burning and people are making jokes or saying shit like, "This is Amazing!" or that California deserves to burn. Who the fuck raised you all?
Hurricane-strength winds have been blowing for hours, which has allowed the flames to spread quickly. Shit's been banging against my doors and windows all night, which has made it difficult to sleep.
This isn't even fire season in California. Especially Southern California. We're supposed to have cold weather, rain, and fog around this time. Early summer to mid-autumn is when we worry about fires.
I'm in the San Fernando Valley, but we haven't received any evacuation orders yet. Doesn't mean I won't pack up to leave if I need to. I have bags for both myself and my dog. There's another fire up in Sylmar, which isn't too far from me.
I have an elderly friend who lives in West LA. I doubt she'll have to worry about evacuating, she's not in the direct path of the fire, but she has 3 cats and if she had to leave, she'd never go without her cats. They're literally everything to her.
People think these fires are a "joke" because they're happening in California. It's not a joke when you have to leave everything behind because your neighborhood is literally burning down around you.
It's so bad people couldn't get out of the Palisades because the traffic was too heavy, so they had to leave their cars and head down to the beach for safety. Homes near Malibu and Santa Monica were damaged. Homes miles away in Pasadena have been burned to skeletal structures. None of this is funny. People and animals could die because of these fires.
When people lose their humanity, they really lose it, and people's reactions to the fires burning in SoCal are just a few of many disgusting examples. Y'all really will do and say the most vile things for clout. Y'all are embarrassing af.
